This World Environment Day, we celebrate the people behind the positive impact.

Across Gold Fields, teams are taking meaningful action every day — managing environmental risks, strengthening controls in the field, and ensuring we meet increasingly rigorous regulatory requirements.

From improving water reuse and efficiency of the solar plant at South Deep (South Africa), to restoring land and supporting community agriculture at Tarkwa (Ghana), these efforts demonstrate how sustainability comes to life on the ground.

Our progress in water stewardship, biodiversity, rehabilitation and decarbonisation is driven by collaboration, accountability, and a shared commitment to doing things the right way.

At Salares Norte, our operation in Chile, we marked our 4th Safety and Health Fair - an energising event that reinforced our unwavering commitment to safety. The fair brought together Gold Fields teams and business partners in a dynamic space, featuring safety controls, hands-on learning, and a strong sense of ownership - proving once again that safety isn’t just a priority, it’s part of who we are.

One of the most inspiring moments came from Bárbara Hernández, the world-renowned Chilean ice swimmer known as the “Ice Mermaid”. Through her powerful story of navigating extreme conditions, she reminded us that self-care, disciplined planning, and resilience are essential to overcoming any challenge. Her message resonated deeply across our teams, reinforcing that safety is both an individual and collective effort, with a clear goal: everyone goes home safe, every day.

This National Reconciliation Week in Australia, at Gold Fields we reflect on the importance of building strong, respectful and enduring relationships with Traditional Owners and communities connected to the land on which we operate.

This year’s theme, All In, reminds us that reconciliation requires collective commitment—through listening, learning and working together to create a stronger shared future.

This video highlights one example of that commitment in action, as we recently celebrated the signing of a Native Title Agreement with the Wangkatja Tjungula Aboriginal Corporation (WTAC), on behalf of the Nyalpa Pirniku people, for the land on which our Granny Smith mine operates.

We remain committed to supporting cultural heritage protection, creating meaningful opportunities, and fostering mutual respect across our operations.

Our team at Cerro Corona in Peru recently hosted an Extended Committee — a space designed to foster open, transparent and meaningful dialogue that truly reflects our Gold Fields Way.

During the session, we focused on the topics that matter most to our teams, addressing participant questions with clarity, openness and close engagement.

It was also an opportunity to recognise achievements and efforts, and to align on moving through 2026 with clear purpose.

A big thank you to all organisers and participants for their energy and commitment in making this an impactful space for connection and collaboration between our people and leadership.

Being prepared to respond to emergencies is a key capability to ensure the safety of our people and operations.

In Kalgoorlie, two Gold Fields teams took part in a series of challenging tests at the Surface Mine Emergency Response Competition, hosted annually by the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia.

More than 14 Emergency Response Teams went head-to-head across multiple disciplines, including firefighting, vehicle extraction, rope rescue, first aid, and team skills.

Gold Fields secured third and fourth place overall and was also awarded Best Scenario for a highly realistic first aid simulation.

Congratulations to our dedicated, professional, and highly trained teams who represented Gold Fields so well - a fantastic achievement by everyone involved!

The Gold Fields Chile team had the honour of participating in Freedom Day 2026, an event that celebrates South Africa’s National Day and is hosted each year by the South African Embassy in Chile.

This meaningful ceremony commemorates Nelson Mandela’s legacy, rooted in humanity, humility and principled leadership - values that continue to inspire generations and shape how we understand our role as a company today.

We sincerely thank Ambassador George Monyemangene for the kind invitation to take part in this special occasion.
