The company faces competition from various other players in the same trade. These competitors can be divided into two groups namely the long established players who have been in the trade for a long period of time and have unlimited resources and channels for meeting customer requirements at any given the excellent reputation / goodwill some of them have acclaimed over the years in business. The second groups of companies are the small / medium business enterprises (SME) who fare more or less in the same boat with Mvula Steel Works and are still trying to make an emphatic impression or in roads into the major league of business. This group of competitors however does not bring much of a threat as survival in this group merely depends on sound marketing strategies and quality performance on the ground, and state of the art equipment rendered. NB: It needs to be noted though that the industry is infested with sub-standard products, made from poor quality imported material. As for conquering the bigger competitors the company is cushioned by the wide spread empowerment drive currently prevailing in our country and spearhead by the Black Economic Empowerment (B.E.E) initiative. As a company Mvula Steel Works has made significant inroads into the previously privileged dominated industry due mainly to its skilled labour force with an excellent approach to business and work.
