I recently revisited the Kimoyo Insights (Google BFF '22) pitch on The Pitch podcast — and it’s one of the most honest illustrations of how Africa is still misunderstood in global capital markets.

Kimoyo is an African consumer research platform founded by Mariam Braimah (ex-Netflix), already working with Microsoft, Flutterwave, Amazon, BBC — real customers, real revenue, real demand.

Yet the conversation kept circling one thing:
