🛰️ SMALLSAT RECAP
The dust has settled, and we can look back at the Small Satellite Conference (SmallSat) and say… what a week!

From launching our new architecture of reaction wheels to showcasing our flight-proven GNC and communications hardware, it was great to see so many familiar faces and meet new ones at Booth 2129.

But the best part? The people.

A huge thank you to our customers, partners, industry friends and everyone who stopped by — and, of course, picked up some swag! 👽

Another year, another Space Day! 🧑‍🚀🚀

This year, Space Day was about more than just bringing students together—it was about connecting academia, industry, and government to inspire the next generation of South Africa's space leaders.

As the host and organising company, NewSpace Systems was honoured to welcome nearly 180 students from Stellenbosch University, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, and the University of the Western Cape to our new home for a day of curiosity, innovation, and discovery.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing our new facility buzzing with the next generation of engineers, scientists, and innovators. From engaging with former astronaut Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger to hearing from some of South Africa's leading space professionals, students gained first-hand insight into the many opportunities and career paths within our growing space ecosystem.

That's what Space Day is all about—connecting people, sharing experiences, and showing young minds that a career in space is within reach. ✨

A huge thank you to our long-standing partners—most of whom have been part of Space Day since it began in 2018— CubeSpace, Simera Sense, CUBECOM, the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) and, of course, Living Maths. Your continued commitment to developing South Africa's future space talent is what makes this event possible.

Last week, we celebrated Mandela Day — the NewSpace way!

Since the start of the year, our team has been collecting donations, and last Friday we came together to spend our 67 minutes giving back to the community.

Together, we donated 529 kg of food, clothing, animal-care items, supplies, and educational packs — roughly the same weight as many of the satellites our products support 🚀

This year, we were proud to support the Halli Trust NPO and the incredible work they do in our community.

And it’s safe to say NewBu made a new friend 👽🐶

Mandela Day is a reminder that everyone has the power to make a difference — one small action, one hour, and one community at a time.

We’re excited to introduce Christoph Limmer as our new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Christoph is a results-driven international executive with nearly 25 years of global experience in the satellite industry. Over the past 15 years, he has held senior executive roles within the connectivity sector, where he successfully developed and executed product, market-entry, and global growth strategies across international markets.
