We are happy to share that Immobazyme has successfully secured our next round of funding, bringing our total investment raised to date to R24.5 million. This will directly support our expansion, doubling the size of our facility and rapidly scaling up our production capabilities.

We have a big group of people to thank.

We’re incredibly grateful to all our investors and partners for recognising the value and impact of our work. Daniel Strauss, Wayne Stocks, and the rest of the team at The University Technology Fund (UTF), having you in our corner has been paramount to our success. A big thank you to the team at University of Stellenbosch Enterprises (USE); we appreciate all the long hours and hard work it took to bring this deal to closure.

Of course, a special shoutout to our three founders and fearless leaders— Dominic Nicholas, Ethan Hunter, and Nick Enslin. Your relentless drive and leadership have propelled Immobazyme to this major milestone, and you continue to inspire us all!

Immobazyme at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

We are thrilled to share that our team members, Nick Enslin, Maima Nokulunga, Bongumusa Mthethwa, and Melissa Stofberg, have successfully completed a four-week training program with the CSIR. The program included two weeks of intensive online courses followed by two weeks of hands-on training at the CSIR campus in Pretoria.

The African Biomanufacturing Workforce Training and Skills Development Programme is dedicated to strengthening Africa’s biomanufacturing capabilities through targeted training and skills development. Our team gained invaluable insights from the experts at the CSIR on various facets of biomanufacturing. One of the program's great advantages is providing a deeper understanding of the challenges and solutions associated with the production and scale-up of various expression platforms.

A tremendous thank you to all those at the CSIR who made this experience possible. Our team is buzzing to get home and apply this new knowledge to our work at Immobazyme.

Daniel Strauss: best-selling author, business guru, and...masseur?

Yesterday, our co-founders Dominic Nicholas, Nick Enslin, and Ethan Hunter attended an engaging business growth seminar hosted by Daniel Strauss and Wayne Stocks of the University Technology Fund (UTF). The seminar brought together all of the investment portfolio companies of the UTF for a day of learning, sharing, and networking.

Dominic Nicholas, CEO, said, "The seminar was a game-changer. It was great to engage with our investors in such an intimate setting. Besides the free back rub and a brisk swim to Robben Island, we gained a fresh perspective on our business strategy and learned new skills that we can't wait to share with our team."

We've got some exciting news to share!

Immobazyme has just closed a third round of funding with the University Technology Fund (UTF) and University of Stellenbosch Enterprises (USE), marking a significant milestone for our company and the largest investment we've received to date.

Thanks to this new injection of funding, we're able to scale up our team and production capacity as we continue to make affordable and accessible recombinant proteins a reality.

This accomplishment wouldn't be possible without the tireless efforts of our incredible team, who have poured their heart and soul into making Immobazyme what it is today. And of course, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to our investors, whose support and belief in our vision have helped us reach this incredible milestone. Thank you all for your dedication and hard work - let's continue to make great things happen together! 🙌

Say hello to our newest intern, Reinert Hjemdahl!

Reinert is currently pursuing a Master's in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Norwegian University of Life Science. He has a true passion for applying his theoretical knowledge of business management, social science, and decision-making to real-world problems and creating a meaningful impact within businesses.

Working with us, Reinert hopes to gain practical experience and insights into how startups operate. He says, "So far, it has been invaluable to see the amount of work and passion required for success. It's exciting to be part of the team and fascinating to witness the effort they put into their work. This experience has made me reflect on how I can utilize my resources to help the team move forward and identify the skills I need to improve. I'm looking forward to learning more, and I hope this experience will serve as a valuable stepping stone for future career opportunities."

As he dives into the biotech industry with us, we are excited to see the contributions that Reinert will bring to the table. We're grateful to have him on board and can't wait to see what the next few months hold for us all.
