Keynote Spotlight | 2026 SAIIE Awards & Gala Dinner

At the 2026 SAIIE Awards & Gala Dinner on 13 August, Konrad Bindeman took the stage with a keynote titled:

โ€œMusings of an (almost 40-year-old) IEโ€

Drawing on nearly four decades as an Industrial Engineer, Konrad shared his reflections, experiences and perspectives from a career shaped by problem-solving, continuous learning and the ever-evolving role of Industrial Engineering.

It was a fitting message for an evening dedicated to recognising excellence in our profession, while reminding us that our growth as professionals and leaders depends on much more than technical expertise. It also requires self-awareness, personal ownership, strong relationships and the willingness to keep developing ourselves.

โ€ผ๏ธ Reminder โ€ผ๏ธ

Join SAIIE for an insightful webinar on Instituting TOC Critical Chain Project Management within a Lean Transformation Framework, where weโ€™ll explore how the Theory of Constraints (TOC) and Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) can be integrated into Lean transformation initiatives to improve project delivery, reduce delays and increase organisational performance.

The webinar explains how the Theory of Constraints' Critical Chain Project Management was instituted within a broader Lean Transformation framework. CCPM provided the systemic mechanisms for controlling project flow, resource contention, priorities, and uncertainty. Lean Transformation provided the leadership practices, coaching routines, standardised work, problem-solving capability, and organisational infrastructure required to embed and sustain the new way of working.
