Progress is built through collaboration, planning and commitment!

The Ensync Engineers team recently held a productive progress meeting on site at the Southern Bulks Water & Sanitation Water Scheme, where key project milestones, ongoing developments and next-phase objectives were discussed.

Projects of this scale play a vital role in strengthening essential infrastructure and supporting sustainable water and sanitation services for communities. We’re proud to be part of the journey toward delivering reliable solutions that make a lasting impact.

Engineering long-term sustainability through innovative infrastructure solutions.

Ensync Engineers is proud to have played a key role in the Sediment Dam Wall Raise project under our “One Plan, Three Components” appointment initiated in 2021.

The project involved the structural stabilisation of the earth wall base, the implementation of additional mechanised drainage systems and securing the Dam Safety Licence approval to raise the dam to a Category 3 structure reaching an impressive 31m wall height over a 490m length.

This expanded storage capacity will help extend the operational longevity of the mill, which supports over 2,000 employees and forms part of Illovo Group’s highly successful African operations. The development also supports downstream manufacturing initiatives, including furfural production for solvents, plastics, pharmaceuticals and biofuels, while sediment material is being repurposed through the Dura-Agg initiative for concrete products and roadworks.

Delivering engineering solutions that strengthen industries, communities
and future growth.

A truly memorable moment for our team at ENsync Engineers as we had the honour of welcoming the SAICE President and the SAICE Johannesburg Branch Committee during the Presidential Visit 2026.

We extend our sincere thanks for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful engagement. From sharing our journey, growth, and milestones over the years, to reflecting on our long-standing partnership with SAICE, the visit was both inspiring and impactful.

What stood out most was the open and honest dialogue around the challenges facing engineering firms in Johannesburg today. These conversations created a valuable platform for collaboration, bringing together ideas, insights, and a shared vision for how we, as engineers in South Africa, can move forward together.

At ENsync, we remain committed to driving engineering excellence, embracing innovation and contributing to the advancement of our industry.

Together, we continue to push boundaries and shape the future of engineering.

On the ground, driving progress where it matters most.

ENsync Engineers was proud to be part of the UMDM – Operation Siyahlola visit to the Asbestos Cement Pipeline Replacement: Rosetta Phase 2 project, led by District Mayor Mzi Zuma.

This important initiative highlights the ongoing commitment to upgrading critical water infrastructure, ensuring safer, more reliable supply for communities.

Replacing ageing asbestos cement pipelines is a vital step toward improving public health, service delivery and long-term sustainability. Engagements like Operation Siyahlola create valuable accountability and collaboration between leadership, engineers and stakeholders, ensuring that projects are delivered with purpose and impact.

At ENsync, we remain steadfast in our commitment to engineering innovative solutions that uplift communities and reinforce the resilience of our infrastructure. A central focus of our efforts is addressing non-revenue water, recognizing that efficient water management is critical to sustainability, economic stability and community well-being. Through forward-thinking strategies and reliable technologies, we strive to minimize losses, optimize system performance and contribute to a more secure and sustainable water future, driven by our One Plan: Losses to revenue

Last month, our very own Prasheel took the stage at the BIM Africa Conference 2026 right here in Durban, representing ENsync Engineers with excellence.

As our BIM Manager, he shared valuable perspectives on how digital innovation is transforming building and infrastructure projects and how we’re using BIM to deliver smarter, more efficient and more sustainable solutions for our clients.

It’s moments like these that reflect the calibre of our team and our commitment to pushing the boundaries of modern engineering.

At ENsync Engineers, Earth Day is more than a moment, it’s a commitment.

As water professionals, we operate at the intersection of infrastructure, sustainability and community impact. Every project we undertake is an opportunity to protect one of our planet’s most vital resources: water.

From reducing non-revenue water and improving system efficiencies, to supporting municipalities with resilient planning and smart water management solutions, our work is rooted in sustainability and long term impact.

Sustainable water systems are not optional, they are essential.

Efficient infrastructure today secures tomorrow.

This Earth Day, we reaffirm our role in driving innovative, data driven solutions that conserve resources, reduce losses and build climate resilient communities.

Together, let’s engineer a future where every drop counts.

During National Water Week 2026, our incredible ladies from the ENsync Engineers Water Team partnered with UMDM to bring vital water awareness to young minds across our communities.

From Injoloba High School to Richmond Primary School and Mazwendoda High School, they engaged with learners on the importance of:
• Saving water
• Protecting our natural resources
• Advocating for women’s empowerment in the water sector

Aligned with this year’s theme, “Water and Gender: Where Water Flows, Equality Grows,” the initiative highlighted how access to water and education can drive real change and create more equal opportunities for all.

We’re proud of our team for not only sharing knowledge, but inspiring the next generation to value, protect and respect one of our most precious resources.

Together, we can build a more sustainable and equal future, one drop at a time.

At ENsync Engineers, we believe in building more than just infrastructure, we believe in building communities.

We’re proud to share that our team members, Sya Mbatha (Vice President of South African Road Federation KZN) and Nomfundo Buthelezi, recently attended a meaningful initiative led by South African Road Federation in collaboration with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport, focused on promoting road safety.

We are proud to have been among the sponsors of the 2025 soccer tournament, which contributed to making this impactful campaign and donation initiative possible.

Well done to everyone involved in driving awareness, safety and positive
change on our roads.
