Position: Electrical

Perform combination of Electrical and Instrumentation tasks (Installation and Fault Finding)

Layout and fitting panel equipment (MCC, PLC and Junction Boxes) from design drawings.
Assist with panel wiring (supervise and wire) and testing panels with software engineer. Fault finding and correction after panel building (FAT). Evaluation of site progress (Cable Racking, Cable installation, termination of cables). Assist with site commissioning and fault finding. Standby duties. Work is project based, deadline must be met. Long working hours, overtime and weekend time.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Electrician. Services on Industrial Plant, Factory or Mining. (Conveyors, Compressors, Generators, Mills, Pumps, Winders, etc).

Experience in building-wiring of MCC, PLC, etc. installation and commissioning.
Electrical experience with motor starters and cabling (400 / 550 VAC)
Must be able to take up supervisory responsibilities
Must be familiar with risk assessment procedures. Not colour blind.
Valid driver’s licence code B, EB or C1.
Own transport.
Be able to read Engineering drawings.
Be able to communicate effectively with range of stakeholders.

Position: Electrical Aid

Welkom Industrial Controls is looking for a person with:

Ability to assist electricians/ technicians with installing and maintaining electrical systems, mine related

Must be able to thread conduit ends
Pull and strap cables
Use tools such as conduit benders, screw drivers, pliers,knives,
hack saw, wirestripper and drills
Dig trenches and cable ducts
Help built panels and junction boxes
Hook up appliances for power
Termination of cables and glanding
No criminal record, will undergo polygraph and screening

Minimum of 2-5 years experience as an Instrument (Mech or Tech) or Electrician Services on Industrial Plant, Factory or Mining. (Conveyors, Compressors, Generators, Mills, Pumps, Winders, etc).

Experience in general control and field instrumentation.
Electrical experience with motor starters and cabling (400 / 550 VAC)
Knowledge of belt scale maintenance, actuated control valves, magnetic flow meters
Temperature transmitters and different types of level control instruments.
Must be able to work in confined space and at heights.
Must be familiar with risk assessment procedures. Not colour blind.
Valid driver’s licence code B, EB or C1.
Own transport to attend to call- outs.
Be able to read Engineering drawings.
Be able to communicate effectively with range of stakeholders.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency whilst never compromising or product quality.

Position: Site manager

Welkom Industrial Controls is looking for a person with:
Minimum 5 years experience as a site manager
A valid medical certificate
Experience on the mine as a site manager
You wil be required to:
Work on major installations/projects with deadlines and penalties
Install and commission field instruments, cabling, junction boxes and PLC panels
Field equipment testing (loop testing)
Commissioning of systems
Oversee installations and commissioning work done by subordinates
Supervision on building of cable racks, modifications,welding and cable installation on and offsite.
Drive subordinates to and from site
Ensure accurate record keeping regarding safety files,pre commissioning and commissioning
Area of operation: Free State Area mainly. Main office at Welkom, but may work away from home
Must be able to work overtime on weekends
