Today, Popota Agricultural College joined the rest of the world in commemorating International Youth Day under the theme “ARISE and SOAR.” The event was held at Choma’s Independence Stadium and was graced by Honourable Cornelius Mweetwa, Minister of Information and Media, as the Guest of Honour.

The Honourable Minister took time to tour the Popota Agricultural College stand and interacted with the youths, appreciating their participation and innovative ideas.

This celebration highlights the college’s continued commitment to empowering young people with agricultural knowledge, skills, and innovation for national development.

Students doing attachments at Popota agricultural college recently conducted litter management practices on piglets gaining essential skills in:

✔️ Tail docking – promoting hygiene and preventing tail biting and also for easy mating in sows
✔️ Teeth clipping – reducing injuries among piglets and the sow
✔️ Iron injection – preventing anemia and ensuring healthy growth

This hands-on training equips our future livestock professionals with the confidence and competence needed in modern pig production.
