We are currently seeking services of two experienced engineers in the relevant fields to join our team as Engineering Manager and General Foreman - Engineering, with a focus on renewable energy and integrated engineering solutions.
Job Summaries
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Manager
- Lead and manage a team of electrical, mechanical and civil engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure their growth and development
- Oversee the designs, development, and implementation of electrical, mechanical and civil systems for renewable energy and integrated engineering projects, including solar, wind, hydroelectric power plants, mining and construction.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, procurement, finance and construction to ensure successful project ex*****on.
- Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation plans for electrical, mechanical and civil engineering projects.
- Conduct high level site visits and inspections to ensure electrical, mechanical and civil systems are installed and functioning correctly.
General Foreman - Engineering
- Support the Project Engineers in leading and managing the engineering teams.
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of electrical, mechanical and civil systems for renewable energy and integrated engineering projects
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project ex*****on.
- Assist in developing and managing budgets, schedules, and resource allocation plans for electrical engineering projects.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure electrical, mechanical and civil systems are installed and functioning correctly.
- Ensure a hands-on involvement in project ex*****on at all practical levels.
Qualifications
1. Engineering Manager
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field. A Masters Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.
- Must have excellent reporting skills.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, with a strong focus on renewable energy and integrated engineering.
- Proven track record of leading and managing electrical, mechanical and civil engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical systems, and to some extent civil systems, including design, installation, and commissioning.
- Experience with industry standard softwares, such as Microsoft Projects, ETAP, SKM, or PSS/E
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines at once.
- Ability to work under intense pressure with minimal supervision.
- Must have a valid EIZ practicing license.
- Must be ready to work in any safe part of Africa.
2. General Foreman - Engineering
- Minimum Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical or Electrical Electronics Engineering or related field.
- Must have excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Must have minimum 5 years experience of working in preferably a renewable energy exposed environment.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Experience with renewable energy technologies, such as solar, wind, or hydroelectric power.
- Excellent knowledge of energy storage systems, BESS and grid integration.
- Familiarity with international standards and regulations, such as IEC, IEEE, or NEC.
- Must have a proven and strong command in working with Victron, Fronius, SunSynk, BYD, Deye, Huawei, Pylontech and Freedom Won brands.
- Must have the ability to participate at hands-on level in all projects assigned.
- Must have a valid EIZ practicing license.
- Must be ready to work in any safe part of Africa.
