Position Title: Equipment Trainer

Reports to: Site Manager

Site: Lumwana

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Equipment Trainer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering practical instruction and assessing employees. This is to ensure they possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to perform their duties safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement training plans in line with operational requirements.
• Deliver induction, refresher, and on-the-job training programmes.
• Conduct competency assessments and practical evaluations.
• Identify training needs through performance observations and operational feedback.
• Maintain accurate training records, attendance registers, and competency matrices.
• Ensure all training complies with company policies, client requirements, and statutory regulations.
• Prepare training reports and submit them to management.
• Participate in developing training materials, manuals, and standard operating procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture by integrating health, safety, and environmental practices into all training activities.
• Liaise with supervisors and department heads to schedule and evaluate training effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• Certified Trainer or instructor (TEVETA or equivalent)
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in open-pit mining operations and equipment
• Repair an added advantage
• Proven experience as a Trainer, instructor, or supervisor in heavy equipment
• operations.
• Familiarity with various types of open pit mining/construction equipment (e.g haul trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers etc).
• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Training, Engineering, Mining, or a related field.
• Experience in competency-based training and assessments.
• Valid driver's license.

Knowledge and Skills & Abilities:
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and training needs and design
• Effective training programs.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to work independently and willingness to travel to mine sites and training locations.
• Physically fit to perform training duties and mentoring.
• Valid medical certificate ( Silicosis).

Job Summary
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing mining operations to achieve targets safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
The role focuses on technical functions, production scheduling, equipment utilization, and continuous improvement of mining processes.

Key Responsibilities
• In charge of the Technical team in the Engineering department, Plan and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly mining activities and reports.
• He will lead and be responsible for all site Engineering functions and work in conjunction with the production team.
• Optimize equipment utilization (e.g., excavators, dump trucks, loaders)
• Analyze production data and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime
• Prepare and present production reports and forecasts
• Implement cost-control measures to improve operational efficiency
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within mining operations
• Ensure adherence to company policies and statutory mining regulations.

• Strong understanding of surface mining operations and interpreting designs
• Familiarity with Zambian mining regulations and safety standards.

Job Summary
A Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Superintendent is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving an organization's health, safety, and environmental management systems.
This is to ensure compliance with legal requirements and promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and standards and ensure compliance
• Identify workplace hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
• Monitor waste management, pollution prevention, emissions, dust, noise, and water quality.
• Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental events.
• Develop and monitor corrective and preventive action plans.
• Prepare detailed investigation reports and communicate findings.
• Conduct risk assessments and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Conduct HSE inductions for new employees and contractors.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
• Monitor changes in HSE legislation.
• Maintain HSE permits, licenses, and regulatory records and liaise with government inspectors and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure contractors comply with company HSE requirements.
• Develop and monitor HSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Supervise HSE Officers.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent.
• Lead Auditor certification in ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 is an advantage.

Experience
• At least 5–8 years of HSE experience, preferably in mining, construction, or heavy industry.
• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Proven experience in incident investigations, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Skills and Competencies
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of HSE legislation and standards.
• Risk assessment and hazard identification.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.

Summary Key Responsibilities
• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and project cost forecasts.
• Conduct site measurements and quantity take-offs for completed works.
• Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), pricing schedules, and tender documents.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of works to support accurate costing.
• Assist with preparation of interim payment applications and progress valuations.
• Verify quantities of work completed on site for payment certification.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and claims.
• Assist in monitoring project expenditure against approved budgets.
• Support the evaluation and preparation of variation orders and additional works.
• Assist in reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Prepare cost reports and provide updates to the Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager.
• Assist with contract administration and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
• Support site teams with measurement and cost-related queries.
• Assist with compiling project reports, records, and documentation for audits.
• Participate in site inspections and progress meetings.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, contract requirements, and health and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Membership with the Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors (ZIQS) or progress towards professional registration will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in quantity surveying or construction-related work.
• Experience in mining, earthworks, road construction, or heavy equipment operations will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of BOQs, measurements, cost control, and contract documentation
