Walter Shacilyata Kasempa II is a versatile governance expert, author, and speaker. He's the founder of Youth Unite Zambia, a youth-led organization aiming to transform Zambia and Africa socially, economically, and politically.
He is the author of the book “A Beacon of Hope: How to unlock Zambia’s Potential” where he provides his governance blueprint vision of Zambia and how she can achieve her ultimate development.
Walter won the 2021 Visionary Leader award from the Economics Association of Zambia for pioneering the Zambia Peace Protocol that advocated for peace during the 2021 general elections in Zambia and has been listed among Zambia’s top 30 under 30 youth leaders in 2023 under the category of Governance.
Walter is also currently the Migration Youth Ambassador for Africa (Souther Africa) with UN-IOM and AU where he advocates for migration governance, free movement of persons across the African continent and conducive migrant rights in African member states.
He also offers geopolitical analysis on governance through various platforms, including African Union Economic Social and Cultural Council and the African Union AGA High Level Dialogue Forum. With a background in Development Studies and experience with working in the Civil Society, he's passionate about systemic change and empowering youth for impactful transformations
