The “Critical Minerals in Zambia: Future Opportunities” launch was held on Wednesday, 25 February 2026 at Radisson Blu Lusaka, bringing together stakeholders from the Geological Survey Department of Zambia, the British Geological Survey (BGS), government representatives, and members of the mineral exploration sector.

The event marked the official launch of the “Critical Minerals Potential of Zambia” guide, developed through collaboration between the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development-Zambia Geological Survey Department and the British Geological Survey, with support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

The publication highlights Zambia’s potential in key critical minerals such as copper, cobalt, lithium, graphite, nickel and rare earth elements, which are essential for modern technologies and the global energy transition. The guide provides valuable geological insights to support investment, exploration and informed policy decisions in Zambia’s growing critical minerals sector.

You can download the full publication here:

This resource is an important step in strengthening geological knowledge, promoting responsible investment, and positioning Zambia as a key global supplier of critical minerals for the future economy.

February in Cape Town looked a little like this: early morning coffee, sharp suits, big ideas and Zambia front and centre. 🇿🇲☕

The Zambia Breakfast Meeting during Mining Indaba2026 brought together investors, exploration companies, financiers, energy providers and policymakers for one clear purpose: driving exploration, investment and sustainable growth in Zambia’s mining sector.

We were honoured to welcome Hon. Paul CC Kabuswe, MP, Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, whose keynote reinforced Zambia’s commitment to responsible mining, policy stability and unlocking new opportunities in exploration.

A big thank you to our sponsors who powered the morning:

Stanbic Bank Zambia
Enterprise Power DRC
Africa GreenCo / GreenCo Power Services
Africast Zambia

The room was filled with meaningful conversations about exploration projects, financing, energy security for mining, strategic partnerships, and positioning Zambia as a leading mining investment destination in Africa.

The best part? The conversations didn’t end when breakfast did.

If you’re interested in Zambia mining investment, exploration partnerships, or being part of the next Zambia Breakfast Meeting, stay connected.

We’re just getting started.
