Organum Design Consultants Ltd

Organum Design Consultants Ltd Architecture, Interiors and Project Managers ODC was founded in the year 2012.

The company’s founders wish to change the trend of lackluster professional design services and instead bring professionalism, elegance and flair to the Zambian construction industry catering for both the local and international clientele. “Organum is a musical style based on plainchant. While one voice sings the primary chant melody, at least one other voice sings along to enhance harmony.” At the

core of all of ODC’s work is the desire to create sustainable designs that ensure that their individual parts work together in harmony to ensure efficiency and minor negative impact on the environment.

🌿 Reimagining Qatar's Landscape: A Valley Revival Project 🌅

Qatar is undertaking an ambitious ecological endeavor – rejuvenating a 12,410m² valley with a 4-meter vertical drop. This site is being transformed from an underutilized space into a thriving eco-friendly landscape that blends culture, sustainability, and community.

The design centers around hedonistic sustainability – the belief that sustainable spaces should conserve resources and enrich human experience. This valley is reimagined with eco walkways, traced edges, and sculptural landmarks celebrating Qatar’s identity while enhancing biodiversity.

📊 Zoning Breakdown (12,410m² verified)
- 🌱 Large Vegetation: 28% (3,474.8m²)
- 🌿 Small Vegetation: 34% (4,219.4m²)
- 💧 Water Bodies: 12% (1,489.2m²)
- 🚶 Circulation & Plazas: 16% (1,985.6m²)
- 🪑 Seating Zones: 5% (620.5m²)
- 🎭 Sculpture Pads: 2% (248.2m²)
- ⚙️ Service/Utility: 3% (372.3m²)

By day, terraced planting beds invite relaxation. By night, eco LED lighting creates a serene atmosphere. A man-made lake, sustained by recycled greywater and rainwater harvesting, supports biodiversity and cools the microclimate.

This project is a community catalyst, fostering pride, connection, and ecological resilience.

🌿 Reclaiming Nature: Qatar’s Valley Rejuvenation Project 🌅

In the heart of Qatar, a visionary transformation is underway—an underutilized valley once overrun with shrubs is being reborn as a vibrant, eco-conscious public space. As an eco-architecture specialist, I see this project as a benchmark for sustainable urban renewal and community bonding.

This initiative reimagines the valley as a living landscape, where meandering walkways, traced edges, and sculptural landmarks—including falcons and pearls—celebrate Qatar’s cultural identity. The design integrates local vegetation, drip irrigation, and eco walkways that infiltrate rainwater, ensuring resilience and biodiversity.

By day, the park invites exploration through terraced planting beds and shaded seating zones. By night, eco LED lighting softly illuminates the paths, creating a serene atmosphere for families and visitors. At its heart lies a man-made lake, fed by recycled greywater and rainwater harvesting, supporting aquatic life and cooling the microclimate.

This is more than landscape architecture—it’s a community catalyst. A place where art, nature, and sustainability converge to foster connection, reflection, and pride.

Let’s build more spaces like this—where eco-design meets cultural storytelling.

Designing Tomorrow: Why Medium-Scale Developments Matter for Growing Cities
At ODC, we believe architecture is more than buildings—it’s about creating spaces that inspire, function seamlessly, and stand the test of time. The project shown here, a two-storey contemporary commercial building, reflects the essence of medium-range developments: practical, elegant, and scalable.
Why Medium-Scale Projects Are the Future
Medium-range developments—such as office complexes, educational facilities, and mixed-use buildings—are the backbone of urban growth. They strike the perfect balance between cost efficiency and design sophistication, making them ideal for businesses, institutions, and investors looking to maximize value without compromising quality.
Key Features of Successful Medium-Range Architecture

Smart Space Planning: Optimized layouts for flexibility and future expansion.
Sustainable Design: Energy-efficient materials and systems to reduce operational costs.
Modern Aesthetics: Clean lines, natural light, and timeless finishes that elevate user experience.
Integrated Landscaping: Green spaces that enhance well-being and environmental performance.

Our African cities are stuck. 🚗💨 Stuck in traffic, pollution, and car-dependent design that holds us back.

But there's a better way. The future is modern, efficient public transport woven into walkable, green cities. 🌿

Let's talk numbers:
▪️1 Metro Train = 1,500+ people
▪️Same people by car = 1,000+ cars

One train can replace a 15km traffic jam. It’s a no-brainer for efficiency and our environment! 🌍

From an urban design view, this means:
✅Transit-Oriented Hubs: Dense, mixed-use areas where you can live, work, and shop within a short walk of a station.
✅Green & Walkable: Shaded pathways, cycling lanes, and vegetation cover make cities cooler and more livable.
✅Tech-Enabled: Real-time apps and smart fares make the system seamless and reliable.

The Result?
➡️Drastically reduced emissions
➡️Economic boost and social equity
➡️Healthier, more connected communities

It's time to build cities for people, not just cars. 🚇✨
