WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LOW VOLTAGE BATTERY BANKS & HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY MODULES
Many people ask us to explain some of the major differences between the low and high voltage batteries, below are some of the difference
Voltage & Phases;
Low Voltage batteries are Usually 60V & below, single-phase. Common in basic home backup setups while High Voltage Typically range 96V–800V, three-phase. Designed for heavy-duty commercial or industrial operations.
LV Battery Banks: Larger in physical size because they need more current to deliver power. Ideal for small to medium homes, powering essentials like lights, fridge, and TV during absence of grid electricity.
HV Battery Modules: More compact but powerful. Recommended for factories, offices, or large buildings where heavy machinery or multiple air conditioners need backup.
Discharge & Efficiency;
LV Systems Discharge at higher currents, which can cause thicker cables and more heat. Efficiency is lower over long distances.
HV Systems: Discharge at lower currents but higher voltage, reducing cable size and losses. More efficient for large-scale energy use.
Scalability & Safety
LV: Easier to install, safer for small setups, but limited in expansion.
HV: Scalable for big projects, integrates well with solar farms or commercial grids, but requires professional installation and stricter safety measures.
Choose Low Voltage if you want affordable, simple backup for your home.
Choose High Voltage if you need high-power for businesses, industries, or heavy-duty operations.
