Chreso University (CU) is a government approved and registered institution of higher learning authorised to offer degree courses in leadership, business, development studies, community development, theology, public health and more. The overall objective of CU is to provide affordable quality education to the people of Zambia at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Further, take note that Chreso is a non-profit organisation therefore our fee structure is very friendly and affordable by most Zambians. Our aim is to provide affordable quality education. Chreso is accredited by General Nursing Council of Zambia, International Accreditation, a member of Logos Education Network and the African Network for the Internationalisation of Education.

Rev. Helmut Reutter
Chancellor
Rev. Helmut Reutter is an ordained Minister of the Gospel through Bund Freikirchlicher Pfingstgemeinden (BFP) in Germany. Rev. Reutter came to Zambia as a Missionary in 1982 with his family. For 10 years he trained Pastors and spearheaded development projects in various fields. In 1992 Rev Reutter initiated the establishment of Gospel Outreach Fellowship, which is an indigenous Zambian Church of which he is the Senior Pastor.
Rev Reutter was a co-founder of an Election monitoring group the Churches in Zambia established to monitor the first multi-party elections in Zambia in 1991 and successfully helped to bring about a peaceful political change in the country.
Rev Reutter is the Founder and Chancellor of Chreso University; he also founded the Prism Africa TV and Chreso Schools. He has worked closely with World Vision Zambia, Life water International, Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia, Expanded Church Response for HIV/AIDS, Catholic Relief Services and many other faith-based entities.
Rev. Reutter studied Theology and Ministry. He Holds a Master of Philosophy in Intercultural Studies and was conferred with the Doctor of Humane Letters by Logos University.
Esther Reutter
Co- Founder & Director
Esther is well-known for her devotion to minutiae and comprehensiveness in everything we do daily. She is a Registered Nurse by profession, with consummate compassion for the poor and the marginalized. The mother behind all that today is called Chreso. Co-founder and director of Chreso Ministries, Litovia Limited, Prism Africa, Chreso ART project, Fountain Gate Children’s Home and the Chreso University.
A strong advocate of professional discipline and meticulousness, she has ensured maintenance of the highest professional values in the Ministry. Esther is of the firm conviction that hypothetical strictness translates into discipline in other domains of life as well. ‘Learning must be sought with dedication and focused to with thoroughness’ is her advice to everyone.
Lawrence Mwelwa
Managing Dean
A result oriented business professional with proven abilities in Leadership, strategic planning, human resource, improving efficiency of operations, team building and detailing project information to determine effective process for operations. Able to identify areas of strength and weakness and implement company policies, standards, changes in operations and systems that optimize productivity and reduce direct and indirect losses.
He has demonstrated the ability to motivate staff to maximum productivity at Chreso University leading a workforce of over 57 professionals. Lawrence holds a diploma in Theology, Bachelor of Business Administration and pursing a Master of Art in Applied Leadership and Change Management Dublin City University.
Patrick Chanda M.D
Dean – Faculty of Science
Patrick has worked as an Associate Consultant for MSE Consulting Group UK, Specialist Registrar, Obstetrics and Gynecology, NHS, UK and a Junior Resident Medical Officer at ZCCM Hospitals. He received his undergraduate training in Medicine and Surgery from University of Zambia, before studying for a Master of Science in Reproductive Health Science in the UK. Prior to joining Chreso University Patrick was the Founding Dean at the School of Health Sciences, City University College Lusaka, Zambia.
In addition to research and teaching, he provides training, consultancy and policy advice. Patrick is a visiting Lecturer at various colleges in Zambia,
Rev. ANDREW SAKALA
Registrar
Andrew is an outstanding public speaker, His dedicated work and intellect proved rewarding for he graduated cm laude from Birmingham Christian College with a Bachelor of Theology Degree. He was offered and held a teaching position at the Christian Vocation Training Centre. Rev. Sakala’s official pastoral assignments include the Dudley Christian Fellowship in Dudley, West Midlands UK. An ordained minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of God Zambia and taught at Gospel Training Institute as adjunct lecturer.
Andrew holds a Masters Degree in Intercultural Studies and Missiology with a good GPA at the All Nations Theological Seminary in Lilongwe Malawi conferred by the Global University of USA.
Phindulani Njobvu
Dean – Open and Distance Education
Phindulani is the Dean of Open and Distance Education. He is a focused, determined and highly influential leader. He is the longest serving and committed employee of Chreso University having served in various capacities. He has a major role to play in accessibility for distance students, ensuring that their learning experience remains rich and varied, and enables them to achieve their learning goals.
He holds a Bachelor of Theology, Master of Theology and pursuing his second Master of Science Degree in Psychology and Counseling.
Loveness Ngulube
Dean – Faculty of Education
A hard-core academician has traversed an illustrious career spanning 28 years. Her journey is embellished with responsibilities and awards, which are shining examples of her commitment and caliber.
An expert in Education, Mrs. Ngulube has been a teacher par excellence. Embarking on her professional journey from GOCA School, she moved on to the Faculty of Education. Her competence and caliber saw her being designated National Schools Coordinator for Chreso Schools.
Her teaching career is replete with handling several important responsibilities. She holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Business Administration with Education from University of Lusaka.
Rodrick Sakamba
Dean – Faculty of Business
Rodrick Sakamba is an accredited lecturer and examiner of TEVETA in Zambia. Currently he is a Dean for the Faculty of Business and Management Studies and a quality assurance officer for Chreso University. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration, Master of Business Administration Degree – Commonwealth Open University UK, Post Graduate Diploma in Managerial Economics-CIC UK, Honours Group Diploma in Business Accounting & Finance – CIC UK, and Diploma in Hotel Operations Management –CIC UK, Diploma in Business Administration –CIC UK, and Diploma in Technical Teaching Education-TEVETA Zambia. He has worked for more than 17 years as a lecturer for business and Hospitality studies. He also supervises masters’ students pursuing business studies at Chreso University.
Phetima Mwanza Chifwalo
Senior Lecturer – Business
Phetima is a Lecturer of Management, at Chreso University School of Business. She conducts research and teaches in the areas of leadership and team development, with a particular focus on how leaders and teams learn, adapt, and develop in complex and dynamic environments.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies, Master of Business Administration in Global Leadership and pursuing a PhD in Leadership and Change Management.
Pamela S. Moono
Head of Department – Public Health
Pamela holds her Master in Public Health from University of Zambia with a concentration in Community Health and Prevention. She received her BA with Education also from the University of Zambia.
Prior to joining Chreso University, Pamela served as a Training Specialist for the University of Lusaka; provided technical assistance to the Lusaka City Council in Occupational Health and safety initiatives, community planning committees and practicum students.
Prof K Sivaramakrishna
Prof K Sivaramakrishna is presently the Principal, GITAM Institute of Management, GITAM University. He did his MA (IRPM) and PhD from Andhra University. He was awarded the Gold Medal for best thesis. He has more than two decades’ experience in teaching and research. Specialized in Human Resource Development, HRM and International HRM, he has completed a major research project sanctioned by UGC, New Delhi on “HRD Interventions in Technical Education”. He has compiled a number of publications under the title of “Doctoral Research in Human Resource Management in Indian Universities –1857 to 2006”.
Prof B Parvathiswara Rao
Prof B Parvathiswara Rao is presently the Rector and Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies in Andhra University. He obtained his MBA and PhD from Andhra University. He worked as the Head of Department of Commerce and Management Studies and as the Chairperson, Board of Studies of Andhra University. He also held administrative positions like Dean of Examinations, Andhra University; the Director of CMS, GITAM, a reputed Management Institute in Andhra Pradesh; and Founder Director of GITAM Institute of Foreign Trade (GIFT). He published nearly 32 papers in various reputed journals and conducted more than 27 seminars on national level and several training programmes in various companies. He has contributed to two books and edited several management books, written by other authors. He has recently authored the best-seller Financial Engineering.
Sakina Qasim Zaidi
