It is called 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane or Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC). It is Haloalkane refrigerant with Thermodynamic properties similar to Dichlorodifluoromathane but with insignificant ozone depletion potential and a lower 100 year global warning potential.
It has formular CF3CH2F and a boiling point of -26.3°C at atmospheric pressure.

1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane gas is used primarily as a hight temperature refrigerant for domestic Refrigerators and Automobile air conditioner. 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane is also considered as an organic solvent, both in liquid and supercritical fluid.
PRODUCTION
1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane is typically made by reacting Trichloroetyylene with Hydrogen Fluoride.
CHCL=CCL2+4HF --->CF3CH2+3HCL.
It reacts with Butyllithium to give Trifluorovinyllitguim.
CF3CH2F+2BULi----->CF2=CFLi+LiF+2BULi.
SAFETY
Mixture with air of the gas 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane are not flammable at atmospheric pressure and Temperatures up to 100°C. However, mixtures with high concentration of air at elavated pressure and or temperature can be ignited. When flames contact 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane or any hot surfaces in excess of 250°C may cause v***r decomposition and the emission of toxic gasses including Hydrogen fluoride and carbonyfluoride. However the decomposition temperature has been reported as above 370°C.
Compressors with R134A is one of the strongest. Due to its properties, it allows the compressor to work little slower and preserve it's life span.
