Star Oil Company is a wholly Zambian owned Private Limited Company re
gistered under the Companyʹs Act cap 388 of the Laws of Zambia in 2007. Our core Business is wholesale supplying of Petroleum Products in bulk to commercial clients and retail sites. Star Oil Company enjoys strong Business relationship throughout Zambia and neighbouring countries. Star Oil Company has a complete range of Petroleum Products that meet international quality and performance specifications.

• OBJECTIVES
The following objectives outline the purpose of our Quality Policy:
• Apply procedures for inventory management and for the quality of Products and Services delivered to avoid Customer complaints and indeed satisfy our Customers.
• To confirm to Internationally accepted standards as required of us by the Energy Regulation Board, the Zambia Bureau of Standards and Accounting Principles
• Improve follow -up of remedial and preventive technical operations and instill a ˝Get it Right First Time” work culture through appropriate training.
• To participate in Social and Economic well-being of the people in the communities where we do Business.
• Maintain safety throughout our distribution and installation facilities at the highest level by ensuring NO personal injuries or damage to property. PRODUCT SOURCE
• Star Oil Company like all the Oil Marketing Companies in the Country procures fuel from Tazama Fuel Terminal/Indeni Petroleum Refinery in Ndola, Zambia. The Refinery mentioned above is ISO 9002 certified and produces various petroleum products under the most stringent and International specifications to meet ever more demanding performance requirements. Special arrangements will always be made with other Companies within the region to facilitate Imports in an event that Tazama/Indeni Refinery is unable to meet the Product Supply on the Market. PRODUCT SUPPLY
Star Oil Company has a specialist function in Supply chain to ensure that benefits of economies of scale in purchases cascade to its customers. The specialist function is
tasked with sourcing the quality of Products and Services demanded by Star Oil Company at the right prices and of the right quality. Star Oil Company has a policy of supplying fuel within 24hrs upon receipt of an order. Star Oil Company will undertake to deliver products to any location as per our Customer’s requirements regardless of the timing in case of emergencies. This is made possible by our flexible operations from our Supply Chain team which can operate at any time or day according to demand. DELIVERIES
Star Oil Company delivers Products to its customers by means of our own reliable fleet of Tankers as indicated in Table 01. The fleet is monitored via Global positioning Gadgets installed on the Tankers and operated by trained and competent drivers. Consequently, deliveries shall be in full and on time virtually all the time. Our Company has a Zero tolerance policy on transit losses. PRODUCT SPECIFICATION
Petroleum Products supplied by Star Oil Company are in line with the current end-user requirements and specifications and are manufactured and handled to meet and exceed applicable international norms. As mentioned under item B, all Products supplied by Star Oil Company are produced to International specification, quality and performance levels. The Product specification sheets are available for your Technical Personnel to compare with your standard requirements upon request. CUSTOMER SERVICE
Customer Service at Star Oil Company is a cardinal function for us to ensure that the focus on Customers is maintained. This function addresses all Customersʹ problems and resolves same within 24 hours unless the nature of the problems/complaints dictates otherwise. The department has specialists in the following areas among others:
Customer Accountant Management
Customer Credit Management
Customer’s Product Delivery Management
Equipment Fault Rectification. COMMERCIAL OFFER
In order to ensure required stock levels and standards for Product storage capacity are met, Star Oil Company shall provide storage facilities/equipment upon agreement based on the volumes to be uplifted. Maintenance of installations and storage yard assessments will also be done by Star Oil Company personnel periodically and when need arises. We shall ensure that agreed stock levels are maintained at your site to cover normal and emergency situations. This will be done through a weekly stock review program. CONTRACT PRICING
H.1 Prices
Proposed Contract prices are always given to our potential clients. These are discussed by both parties, and amendments made before a Contract is finally signed and/or supply of product commences. The prices are in line with the Government recommended prices. H.2 Price Adjustments
Price changes will be advised and discussed before implementation whenever there are price revisions done by the regulatory authorities in line with the international price movements or tax changes in the price structure. PAYMENT TERMS
Payment terms for all products supplied will be on CASH BASIS (COD) except where Credit Facilities are in place when FOURTEEN (14) DAYS from date of invoicing will be accepted. Where Products are issued on a delivery note, the reference date will be date of the delivery note. Please note that we reserve the right to discontinue supply of Product for regular late payment not communicated to ourselves. Payment terms will also be discussed and agreed by both parties before commencing supply in case the 14 days might prove unfavorable. HEALTH,SAFETY,ENVIRONMENTAL AND QUALITY MANAGEMENT
At Star Oil Company, we are concerned about the safety and health of both the users of our Products as well as the environment as a whole. It shall be our responsibility to train your staff in the proper handling of our Products, both fresh and used, in order to safeguard their health and that of the environment. To ensure Quality of Products delivered we shall provide offloading manuals as well as dipping pastes, water finding pastes and Thermo-densimetres. We shall also undertake Tank Calibration when need arises. CONCLUSION
Star Oil Company has a competitive edge over its competitors because it runs its own fleet of Tankers which are reliable and does not incur costs from sub-contracting and has storage facility which allows us to be flexible and be able to satisfy our Clients at reduced costs.
