This diagram illustrates a solar panel wiring configuration that combines series and parallel connections to achieve an optimal voltage and current output. Each column of three panels is connected in series, where the voltages add up while the current remains the same. Since each panel outputs 18V and 5.5A, three panels in series provide 54V at 5.5A. The two series strings are then connected in parallel, which maintains the voltage at 54V but doubles the current to 11A. This type of setup is useful for solar charge controllers that require higher voltage input for efficient energy conversion. The combination of series and parallel connections helps optimize power generation while reducing power losses in the wiring. This configuration is ideal for off-grid and grid-tied solar systems, improving overall efficiency and adaptability.
