What you are seeing in the photo is essentially detail waterproofing of the Harvey-tile joints. Harvey tiles are designed around an overlapping system; when installed correctly, that overlap is intended to prevent water entry.

How KAVALEAKS Rubber Filler stops the leak
With age, movement, poor installation, damaged overlaps, or previous repairs, small openings can develop at the tile joints. Wind-driven rain can then find those weak points and travel beneath the tiles.
KAVALEAKS Rubber Filler Elastic Putty is used to close those openings rather than simply painting over them.
The principle is:
OPEN JOINT → PACK WITH RUBBER FILLER → FLEXIBLE SEAL → WATER BLOCKED
The applicator should clean the joint first and remove loose material. Rubber Filler is then pressed firmly into the joint/overlap, particularly where two Harvey tiles meet. The important part is pe*******on: don't just leave a thin smear sitting on top. The filler needs to bridge and close the actual water-entry path.
Once cured, the elastic putty forms a continuous flexible barrier across the joint. Flexibility matters because roofing expands and contracts with temperature and can experience small amounts of movement. Flexible roof-joint sealants are specifically used because they can maintain a watertight seal while accommodating movement better than a rigid filler. �

Then your KAVALEAKS Rubber Paint can be applied over the repaired joints and ultimately across the roof as the secondary waterproofing/weatherproofing layer. This gives you a two-stage system:
1. Rubber Filler = repairs and seals the leak points.
2. Rubber Paint = forms the continuous protective waterproof coating.

🏠 WHY DOES THIS PART OF THE ROOF KEEP LEAKING?
These pictures show one of the most common roof-leak failure points: the junction where roof tiles meet a parapet or masonry wall.
Many people respond by simply painting waterproofing over the area. Unfortunately, paint alone cannot permanently repair a moving joint or an open gap.
The problem is normally caused by a combination of movement between the roof and masonry, cracked or deteriorated mortar, gaps around the tile profiles, poor original flashing/detailing, and repeated expansion and contraction from Zimbabwe's hot days and cooler nights. Once small cracks develop, wind-driven rain can enter behind the waterproofing and travel underneath the tiles.
🔧 THE CORRECT REPAIR METHOD
Remove all loose, cracked and poorly bonded material first. Clean the joint thoroughly and open up weak cracks rather than simply painting over them.
Then use KAVALEAKS RUBBER FILLER to rebuild and seal the difficult junctions, especially the gaps between the tile profiles and the wall. Rubber Filler is applied as a thick-bodied repair compound, allowing the applicator to fill irregular gaps and create a continuous waterproof transition rather than leaving thin paint bridging an open joint.
For wider or movement-prone joints, the repair should be properly reinforced and built up rather than trying to fill an excessively deep cavity in one unsupported application. After curing, the repaired junction can then receive the specified compatible waterproof protective coating.
Important: waterproofing is only as strong as the substrate underneath it. Applying another coat over loose mortar, dust, failed material or an active crack simply hides the problem temporarily.
