A Milestone for Zimbabwe Flying Labs

We are honoured to announce that Zimbabwe Flying Labs has received Ministerial approval from the Department of Civil Protection to collaborate with and be co-opted into the National Civil Protection Committee.

This recognition highlights the growing role of emerging technologies in strengthening disaster risk management and national resilience. Through this collaboration, we will contribute our expertise in drone technology, geospatial data, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation to support disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience across Zimbabwe.

Together with the Department of Civil Protection, we look forward to contributing to:

* Capacity building and training in drone operations and geospatial technologies.
* Drone deployment for disaster monitoring, risk mapping, search and rescue, and rapid damage assessments.
* Strengthening disaster preparedness, response coordination, and recovery planning.
* Hazard mapping, environmental monitoring, and contingency planning.
* Knowledge sharing, research, and innovation to advance evidence-based disaster risk management.

This milestone reflects the increasing importance of technology-driven solutions in addressing national challenges and reinforces our commitment to using innovation for social impact.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Department of Civil Protection, the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works, and all our partners for their confidence in our work. We look forward to building a safer, more resilient Zimbabwe through collaboration and innovation.

Drones. Healthcare. Hope.

We recently hosted an inspiring dialogue on how drone technology is transforming healthcare, disaster response, and logistics across Africa.

In partnership with the U.S. Embassy Harare, we brought together innovators, students, and technology enthusiasts to explore the life-changing potential of drones in delivering medical supplies, strengthening emergency response, and solving real-world challenges.

The event sparked meaningful conversations, new connections, and fresh ideas on how emerging technologies can build stronger, more resilient communities.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussion. Your passion for innovation continues to drive the future of STEM in Zimbabwe and beyond.

Together, we’re not just talking about the futureβ€”we’re building it. πŸ’™

🚁 Innovation Took Flight at Upenyu Festival!

We were excited to showcase a digital banner towing demonstration using our DJI Agras drone at the Upenyu Festival!

This demonstration highlighted how drone technology can be used in creative and practical ways beyond its traditional applications. From aerial advertising to public awareness campaigns and event promotions, drones continue to unlock new possibilities across different industries.

It was amazing to see the excitement and curiosity from everyone who watched the demonstration. Thank you to the Upenyu Festival organizers for the opportunity and to everyone who came to support us.

The future of technology is here, and we’re proud to be helping shape it in Zimbabwe.

🚁✨ Halfway through the term and innovation is in the air!

Our Emerging Technologies Program is currently running in 6 schools, introducing learners to the future of technology through a termly rotation of Drones, Robotics, and AI πŸ€–πŸ’‘.

This term, our students are exploring the world of drone technology learning how drones work, their real-world applications, drone safety, and gaining hands-on experience with drone operations.

We’re proud to see their curiosity, creativity, and confidence grow as they develop the future-ready skills needed to become the innovators of tomorrow. πŸŒπŸš€

Last Friday was more than a masterclass, it was a powerful reminder of what happens when passionate people come together to learn and grow.

In collaboration with the U.S. Embassy Harare, we hosted the Drone Data Masterclass at Zimbabwe Flying Labs, facilitated by Bronwyn Morgan. The room was filled with curiosity and energy as students and professionals explored how drone technology, AI, and data are shaping the future.

Beyond the content, the real impact was in the conversations, the questions asked, the ideas challenged, and new perspectives formed. The networking that followed made it even more meaningful, with real connections being built.

Grateful to everyone who showed up and engaged, and to the U.S. Embassy Harare for the continued support.

This is just the beginning.
