Zimbabwe Open Data Initiative

The Zimbabwe Open Data Initiative is an important government-led effort aimed at making government data more accessible and transparent to the public. The initiative recognizes the value of data in driving innovation and development, including its potential for AI applications and research.

The Open Data Inventory (ODIN) measures how complete a country’s statistical offerings are and whether their data meet internationalstandards of openness. Zimbabwe ranks 97t in the Open Data Inventory 2020 with an overall score of 48.. The overallscore is a combination of a data coverage subscore of 46 and a data openness subscore of 50.
