PROPOSED DAM 4 UPGRADE AND WATER ABSTRACTION FROM GWAYI RIVER

Bravura proposes to upgrade Kamativi Dam 4 to increase its water storage capacity from the current 500,000 m3 to about 1,200,000 m3 +/10%. The upgrade will involve the construction of an earth embankment to raise the dam height and installation of the spillway and outlet structures accordingly. The goal of this upgrade is to transform Dam 4 into an off-river pumped storage facility, enabling water to be drawn from the Gwayi River, located about 4.5km south of the dam, and stored in the dam for use at the lithium processing plant. Dam 4 is on the northern side of the tailing dump.
