Zimbabwe. South Africa. Singapore. Jakarta.

Four locations. Thousands of kilometres. Six students. Supportive parents. One coach determined to make sure everyone arrived not just safely, but ready to compete on a global stage.

The journey itself became part of the education.

From the moment we landed in Johannesburg for our connection, something began to shift in the students. The world was getting bigger in real time. Then came Singapore futuristic, precise, inspiring. A city that quietly reminds you what human innovation can look like when vision, systems, and opportunity come together.

The students and parents absorbed everything. The architecture. The technology. The discipline. The scale. It was more than travel. It was exposure.

And then came Jakarta. Loud, vibrant, energetic Jakarta home of Codeavour 7.0.

We did not travel this far by accident. Every connecting flight, every delayed moment, every airport seat, every adjustment along the way was preparing these young people for something bigger than a competition.

Because the future they are stepping into is global.

They needed to experience what it feels like to walk into an international arena as young Zimbabwean innovators. Not through YouTube videos. Not through textbooks. But in real life.

And when the moment came, they did not flinch.

They competed.
They learned.
They adapted.
They represented Zimbabwe with courage and confidence.

The support from the parents made this journey even more meaningful. Watching families travel together, encourage the students, and stand behind their children throughout the experience reminded us that building young innovators is never a one-person effort.

This was more than a robotics competition.

It was growth.
It was exposure.
It was belief.

GlucoCare is a student developed healthcare innovation project created under Robotek that aims to support people living with diabetes through simple, accessible, and intelligent technology. The project addresses a major global problem where many diabetic patients, especially children, elderly individuals, and people in low-resource communities, struggle to understand glucose readings, manage insulin intake, and track their health consistently over time.
The proposed solution is a smart mobile application that helps users interpret glucometer results in a simple and user-friendly way. Instead of displaying confusing medical numbers alone, the app explains whether glucose levels are normal, low, or high and provides guidance on possible corrective actions. GlucoCare also includes meal-based insulin recommendations, glucose trend tracking through graphs, and educational health insights to improve awareness and decision-making.
The project promotes preventive healthcare, better diabetes management, and equal access to health information, aligning strongly with wellness, technology, and healthcare innovation goals worldwide.

Eat Right Live Bright is a student developed health and wellness project created under Robotek that encourages people to make smarter food choices using technology and AI. The project focuses on a growing problem where many people regularly consume unhealthy foods without fully understanding nutritional labels or the long-term health risks linked to obesity, diabetes, and poor eating habits.

The solution is a mobile application that allows users to scan food products and instantly receive a simple health interpretation using easy-to-understand color indicators and recommendations. Instead of complicated nutritional facts, the app explains whether a product is healthy, unhealthy, or should be eaten in moderation. It also suggests healthier alternatives that are more balanced and nutritious.

The project promotes healthier lifestyles, preventive healthcare, and nutrition awareness, especially for children, families, and communities. Eat Right Live Bright aligns strongly with wellness, education, and sustainable development by helping people make informed daily food decisions before health problems develop.

Three weeks. Every single day. No days off.

That’s what it took to get six young Zimbabweans ready to stand on a world stage and represent their country at one of the biggest student robotics and AI competitions on the planet, Codeavour 7.0.

When we decided to enter, we didn’t have the luxury of a long runway. We had a window, a vision, and a group of six incredibly determined students who were willing to show up everyday and do the work.

So that’s exactly what we did. We trained. We debugged. We rebuilt. We discussed about ideas, scrapped some of them, and came back the next morning to try again. Day after day, the projects started taking shape, not because everything went smoothly, but because these students refused to let the hard days win.

What I watched unfold over those three weeks wasn’t just technical skill developing it was character being built. These were young people learning what it means to commit to something fully. To represent something bigger than themselves. To carry a flag, literally and figuratively, and not put it down when things got difficult.

Zimbabwe has talent. Deep, real, undeniable talent. And over these next few days, I want to show you exactly what that looks like when it’s given a stage.

This is just the beginning of the story.

This day reminded us that it truly takes a village. These young innovators brought their ideas to life, but they didn’t do it alone. They had the support by of parents, teachers, and partners who believe in them. Together, we have seen what’s possible when we don’t give up on our children or their dreams.
✨ Join us in inspiring the next generation of innovators.
