Yesterday, our borehole survey team was in Rainham conducting a detailed groundwater assessment.
We were engaged by one of the well-renowned real estate companies to identify a suitable drilling point for a borehole that will support the development of their property.
The planned borehole will provide water for various development activities, including road works, drainage works and other civil engineering applications.
As part of our assessment, Station 5 was identified as the most promising target point and has been recommended for borehole drilling.
Based on the survey interpretation, we recommend drilling to a minimum depth of 75 m and a maximum depth of 100 m, unless a satisfactory and sustainable water-bearing zone is encountered earlier. If the borehole demonstrates sufficient yield before reaching the maximum recommended depth, drilling may be terminated based on the prevailing geological and water-bearing conditions.
The survey also indicates the need for double casing within the first 14 m, followed by full casing for the remainder of the drilled section. This is recommended to provide long-term borehole stability and minimise the risk of formation collapse, particularly where loose, weathered or fractured formations may be encountered.
Another successful site assessment as we continue helping our clients make informed, data-driven decisions before committing to drilling.
