ZESA National Training Centre was proud to exhibit some of the innovations from their students at the recently held Zimbabwe Agriculture Show. Below is an invention by our student Innocent Adam Chundu, a National Diploma student in ELECTRICAL POWER ENGINEERING and Artisan at ZESA Harare Region, on developing a Solar-Powered Smart Irrigation System using an ESP32 microcontroller.

The system automatically irrigates based on soil moisture, tank level, rainfall, and weather data, with Wi-Fi dashboard, SMS alerts, pump protection, automatic lighting, and an intruder alert feature. ZESA Private Limited Zesa Enterprises Private Limited PowerTel Zimbabwe

ZESA National Training Centre was proud to exhibit some of the innovations from their students at the recently held Zimbabwe Agriculture Show. Below is an invention by our student Thabelang Makhurane, a National Diploma student in ELECTRICAL POWER ENGINEERING and Lead Artisan at Hwange Power Station, on completing a PLC-controlled pull-wire safety mechanism for conveyor belts.

The system gives an immediate manual emergency stop when a hazard occurs along the conveyor, using fail-safe wiring and PLC-based detection and reset logic. ZESA National Training Centre was proud to exhibit some of the innovations from their students at the recently held Zimbabwe Agriculture Show. Below is an invention by our student Kirlyn Rutendo Gatawa-Mukuchura, a National Diploma student in ELECTRICAL POWER ENGINEERING and Electrician at Juru SCSC, on the successful design and construction of her project: an RFID and GSM-enabled Three-Phase Automatic Changeover Switch with phase failure and phase imbalance protection.

The system automatically switches electrical power supply between the main grid and a standby source, such as a generator or solar system, in the event of power failure, phase imbalance, or low voltage. Users can remotely control and monitor the system via SMS from anywhere in the world, receive notifications for every changeover event, and rely on RFID-based access control to restrict operation to authorised personnel.
