Jecca Engineering | Site Update — Freda Rebecca Gold Mine, April 2026

We are currently on site at Freda Rebecca Gold Mine (FRGM), a leading Zimbabwean gold producer under the Mutapa Gold Resources Group, carrying out a full electrical infrastructure upgrade.

What we delivered in April 2026:

- 30 MVA transformer installation in progress — upgrading the mine's entire power supply
- Voltage infrastructure transitioning to 132kV/88kV/33kV
- 33kV line decommissioning progressed from 5% to 85% completion in one month
- Foundation soil bearing capacity confirmed at 162 kN/m² — 20% above the minimum design requirement
- Foundation excavations completed for the 88kV CT, 88kV Circuit Breaker, and Transformer pad
- Transformer oil sump fully redesigned and engineered
- 10 steel pole sections removed from the existing line route
- Circuit breakers received from China and secured on site

Safety — April 2026:
Zero injuries. Zero lost-time incidents. Zero fatalities. 16 risk assessments. 9 site inductions. 4 near-misses — all investigated and resolved.

Coming in May 2026: Concrete pouring operations and final line decommissioning works.

When this project is complete, Freda Rebecca Gold Mine will have access to 30 MVA of reliable, high-voltage power — built to international standards, by a Zimbabwean electromechanical engineering contractor.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce the arrival of our brand-new hydraulic pile ramming machine fleet — and they are already turning heads on the yard! 💪⚙️
These powerful crawler-mounted pile driving rigs together with our Heavy-Duty High-Pressure Air Compressor Unit are now fully mobilised and ready for action on our Unki Mine Solar Farm Project and several exciting new large-scale solar energy projects we cannot wait to share with you very soon! 🌞
🔩 So how does it all work together?
On large solar farm projects, the ground beneath is not always soft and co-operative! At sites like Unki Mine, engineers frequently encounter hard rock formations and consolidated geological substrata that cannot be penetrated by direct pile ramming alone.
That is exactly where our heavy-duty 218 Bar pneumatic compressor comes in — it powers high-pressure percussive rock drilling equipment that pre-drills and breaks through hard rock surfaces, preparing precisely located bore points that allow our RAM 008 crawler rigs to then drive the steel PV module mounting posts cleanly and accurately to the correct embedment depth. ⛏️🪨
Think of it this way — the compressor opens the door through the rock, and the pile rig drives the post home. Together, they ensure every single solar panel mounting structure is anchored with structural precision and geotechnical integrity, no matter how tough the ground conditions. 🏗️☀️
