You’re probably addicted to something and it’s not what you think.

It’s not drugs.

It’s not alcohol.

It’s the need to be approved by other people.

We spend money we don’t have, stay in situations that hurt us, and make decisions based on “What will people say?”

Social media has made it worse. We showcase the perfect life while sometimes hiding the pain behind the picture.

The cure? Learn to live without an audience.

Not every success needs to be posted.

Not every blessing needs to be announced.

Not every victory needs applause.

Build quietly. Live genuinely. Protect your peace.

Stop living for perception. Start living with purpose.

Some of your best chapters may never be posted—and that's okay. ❤️

THE WALLS REMEMBER
The Old Buildings Disappearing from Memory in Harare CBD’s “Transformation”

THE THIRD KILL

His most controversial project came twenty years into his career.
A new commercial district was proposed in the historic centre of the city.
But the site contained buildings more than a century old.
They were imperfect.
Some were deteriorating.
Some needed restoration.
Some could have been adapted.
But they carried something new buildings could never manufacture:
MEMORY.
The architect was asked to design something modern.
He proposed demolishing almost everything.
“Progress,” he said.
Then the bulldozers arrived.
One by one, the old buildings disappeared.
The stone walls.
The timber windows.
The verandas.
The courtyards where generations had gathered.
The market spaces where traders had worked for decades.
Within months, the historic district had been transformed into another landscape of glass and concrete.
The project won an international award.
The architect stood beneath bright lights.
The audience applauded.
But nobody asked:
WHAT DID WE DESTROY TO BUILD THIS?
Because architecture is not only about what we put on the land.
It is also about what we choose to leave behind.
Old buildings are not merely old structures.
They are physical records of who we were.
And when we demolish them without asking what they mean, we may not simply be clearing a site.
We may be clearing memory.
As Dr. Eddison Zvobgo warned:
“Nations who go about destroying their old buildings are in danger of destroying their own heritage.”
THE THIRD KILL
We destroyed memory to build progress.
Same drawings.
Different victims.

THE SECOND KILL

Years later, he designed a luxury estate outside the city.

The brochures showed beautiful houses surrounded by mature trees.

What the brochures didn't show was what had existed there before construction.

A wetland.

It was home to frogs, birds, insects, reptiles and hundreds of small animals.

The wetland absorbed stormwater naturally.

It filtered pollutants.

It cooled the surrounding environment.

The architect called it:

“an underutilised piece of land.”

The developer called it:

“prime real estate.”

The excavators arrived.

Trees disappeared.

The wetland was filled.

Concrete replaced soil.

Roads replaced vegetation.

Houses replaced habitats.

The architect received his fee.

The developer received his profits.

The animals received nothing.

Six months later, the neighbouring community began experiencing severe flooding.

The natural drainage system had been destroyed.

Homes flooded.

Sewage overflowed.

People lost property.

The architect blamed the municipality.

The municipality blamed climate change.

The developer blamed unprecedented rainfall.

Nobody blamed the drawings.

BEYOND THE DRAWING

A beautiful building is more than lines, walls and finishes.

Architecture shapes how people live, how communities connect, how we experience nature, and how places evolve.

The real work begins when the drawings are finished.

Because what we draw on paper eventually becomes someone’s reality.

What if an architect could kill without ever touching a weapon?

Imagine an architect who becomes famous for designing beautiful buildings.

Award-winning projects.
Luxury developments.
Iconic glass façades.

But years later, he discovers something terrifying:

Every major project had a consequence.

One project destroyed a wetland and contributed to flooding.

Another demolished historic buildings and erased part of a community's identity.

A hospital looked spectacular but overheated during power failures.

A luxury development destroyed wildlife habitat.

A beautiful house became unsafe because aesthetics were prioritised over human safety.

None of these were called murders.

They were called:

Design decisions.

Cost-saving.

Progress.

Development.

But architecture is not just about what we build.

It is also about what our buildings destroy, displace, consume and change.

So here's the question every architect should ask before signing a drawing:

WHAT WILL THIS BUILDING KILL?

People?
Animals?
Trees?
Water?
Heritage?
Culture?
Or perhaps something we won't discover until twenty years later?

Every line we draw has consequences.

Where architecture meets art. ✨🏡
An ultra-luxury hillside villa carved into nature — floating volumes, endless glass, glowing interiors, and an infinity pool that melts into the forest. This is more than a home… it’s a statement of power, elegance, and vision.

Luxury isn’t just seen here — it’s felt.

“Where Ideas Become Home.”

It started as lines—quiet, precise, and full of intention.
A vision sketched between imagination and need.

This house was never just walls and a roof.
It was designed as a rhythm of spaces—
where mornings begin in soft light through the verandah,
and evenings settle gently into the warmth of the lounge.

Every room tells a story:
three bedrooms for rest, a master suite for retreat,
open living for connection, and seamless flow for life as it happens.

From concept to form, from blueprint to reality—
this is architecture that lives, breathes, and belongs.

Because great design doesn’t just build houses—
it builds the way you live.
