🚀 Great day at our customer’s Open Day in Bavaria!
It was great to meet so many curious visitors and showcase how BSF larvae are already being produced as a regional, high-quality protein source for pigs.
Events like these help make circular agriculture tangible, showing how organic by-products can be transformed into valuable animal feed through innovative farming.

BSF frass: What goes around comes around ♻️

One of the most overlooked outputs of BSF farming? Organic fertilizer. Alongside protein production, BSF systems also generate frass which is a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer created during the rearing process.

Insect frass naturally contains:
→ organically bound nitrogen
→ beneficial microorganisms
→ chitin, which can support plant resilience and soil health

In previous cultivation trials, soybeans grown with insect fertilizer showed up to 17% higher yields compared to conventional approaches.

As insect farming scales, circular by-products like organic fertilizer will become an increasingly important part of the agricultural value chain, turning nutrients back into food production instead of waste and once more closing the local protein loop.

Here’s a sneak peek from one customer’s field where WURMGOLD just arrived, our insect-based fertilizer produced from BSF frass fed on pre-consumer organic by-products.

🚀 💥 We started in Vienna with a demonstrator factory and now we’re building automated insect farming technology for 10 projects all across Europe.

While our Vienna site remains focused on biology and R&D, we’re now scaling the manufacturing of our automated insect farming systems in Germany, closer to suppliers, customers and agricultural infrastructure.
