Williams Metal Fabrications

Williams Metal Fabrications We specialise in custom metal fabrication. We love tricky projects and we always over-deliver.

Based in South Australia and family-owned and operated, our team has grown but also includes many who have been with us since we started in 1998. Our people are some of the best in the industry, including boiler makers, welders and riggers. Many also have elevated work platform licenses, crane licenses and boat licenses. Our services are broad, but always focus on one thing: going over and above f

or our clients. That may mean creating a design solution to a complex problem, or sending our people to a remote location to fix a problem.

It’s time for another ‘Meet the Team’. This time it’s the backbone of our company - Christy Smithers!

Christy has been part of the Williams Metal Fabrications team since 2011, bringing more than 20 years of experience in administration and finance related roles.

Christy leads our administration team and looks after many of the important behind the scenes functions that keep us running smoothly. Her role spans administration, HR and payroll, and she is also our Return to Work Coordinator.

But really, Christy is known for being easy going, efficient and always up for a laugh.

Outside of work, Christy is kept busy by her two kids, whose hobbies have apparently replaced any she once had of her own! Her days off are filled with the glamorous pursuits of cleaning, washing and grocery shopping - and whatever her kids have planned for her.

After 15 years at WMF, Christy is very much part of the furniture – and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

We're proud to be sponsoring our friend and colleague Jeremy Hawkes from Bowhill Engineering as he takes part in the 2026 SA Variety Bash next week.

Driving the SA Variety Bash- Team Mallee Bulls car 727, Jeremy and the team will travel more than 2,300km through regional South Australia, raising vital funds for Variety - the Children’s Charity SA who support children living with disability, illness and disadvantage.

Good luck to Jeremy and the entire Mallee Bulls team. We hope you have an incredible week, safe travels and a successful fundraising campaign for such a worthwhile cause.

We've recently delivered two complete sets of ferry landing structures for DIT, supporting ferry operations at Narrung and Tailem Bend. Manufactured to exacting tolerances and protected with marine-grade coating systems, these structures are built to withstand the harsh River Murray environment.

Read more about the project on our website:

We manufactured, painted and transported two complete sets of ferry landing strictures for DIT, for locations along the River Murray.

Our shed installation team recently completed the installation of this 440m² Olympic Industries shed for Fulton Hogan at Dry Creek.

Designed to support day-to-day operations, the structure required additional planning and coordination, with an internal partition wall creating two dedicated functional areas - one for plant and equipment storage, and the other operating as a wash bay area.

See more info and photos on the Project section of our website:

This project saw the Williams Metal Fabrications team install a new 440m² shed (22m x 20m x 6m high) supplied by Olympic Industries for Fulton Hogan at Dry Creek,
