Our Graduate Technical Forum recently brought together grads from across Olympic Dam, Carrapateena, Prominent Hill and Adelaide for a week of learning, site tours and making connections across the business.

The newly upgraded Tavern is giving residents more ways to relax, connect and unwind after a shift. Safe to say it’s quickly becoming one of the most popular spots in the village🍻⛳🎯🎱

🏗️ More rooms, more space, more progress at Olympic Dam!

We’ve hit a big milestone at Olympic Dam South - our newest 1,600 room village – is over halfway to completion 👏

Over the last three weeks, 111 modules (444 rooms) rolled onto site.
Built locally by Fleetwood Australia, these modular buildings are helping us gear up for our first major shutdown in six years.

When he’s not optimising copper production at Carrapateena, Plant Metallurgist Luke Webb is pushing the limits in one of the world’s most extreme sports - Downhill Ice Cross ❄️

Think ski cross… on ice skates. Luke races head to head down steep, twisting tracks at speeds of up to 80 km/h, navigating jumps, tight turns and obstacles.

Luke also competes in Skate Cross and Downhill Inline, hitting speeds of over 100 km/h on mountain roads. Now, he’s set to represent Australia at the World Skate Games in Paraguay this October, building on his impressive result of 6th in the world in 2024.

From inline hockey as a kid to competing on the world stage, Luke has become:
🏅 First Australian to compete in Red Bull Crashed Ice
🏅 Australia’s #1 ranked athlete in the sport for 10 years
🏅 First Australian to achieve a podium finish

Balancing work and elite sport isn’t easy - but with the support of his team and the great facilities at Carra, he’s making it work👷

With Ice Cross being considered for the 2030 Winter Olympics, Luke’s goal is clear: representing Australia on the world’s biggest stage.

Our Autumn Ecology Survey at Oak Dam wrapped up recently.

Twice a year, during Autumn and Spring, teams complete a range of ecology surveys across the Oak Dam area including bird surveys, w**d transects, camera traps and acoustic monitoring. The data helps build a long-term picture of the environment, creating an important reference point for the future.

The recent rain has been a win for the local environment, with the region looking green, thriving and full of life.

From painted dragons and whip snakes to Sudell’s frogs, the surveys captured some incredible native species. 🦎🐍
