Bardavcol recently completed works to upgrade the intersections of James Congdon Drive and Sir Donald Bradman Drive, as well as Railway Terrace and James Congdon Drive. The project was part of the $850m package of Broader Network Upgrades, jointly funded by the Australian and South Australian governments as part of the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project. It was a broad scope of works that delivers easier access to and from the city from South Road along James Congdon Drive while also enabling easier access to the western suburbs and improving safety for cyclists and pedestrians.

The project featured:
• Three new right-turn lanes from James Congdon Drive onto Sir Donald Bradman Drive
• An additional shared through and right-turn lane on James Congdon Drive (southbound)
• Extra through lanes on Sir Donald Bradman Drive
• An extended left-turn lane from Sir Donald Bradman Drive onto James Congdon Drive
• Improvements to the intersection of James Congdon Drive and Railway Terrace
• New shared-use paths and landscaping

Well done to the project team and our contractors who have worked collaboratively with the Department to deliver such an extensive project in a compressed time period. Thanks also goes to local residents, businesses, road users, cyclists and pedestrians for your patience as we sought to impact as little as possible. Another great project as part of our 50th year in operation in South Australia and one we are proud to continue to have completed for our State.

We’re excited to be attending The Big Meet, hosted by the Australian Association of Graduate Employers (AAGE) , today—connecting with some of Australia’s brightest emerging talent.

The event is a great chance to engage directly with university students, have genuine conversations about career pathways, and share insights into opportunities within our industry. It’s always valuable meeting students as they start thinking about their next steps.

On Sunday 8th February 2026, the City of Norwood Payneham and St Peters officially launched the Trinity Valley Stage 4 project, with many local families enjoying a beautiful day in the sun at St Morris Reserve. While much of the critical stormwater infrastructure delivered as part of these works may not be visible to the community, it plays a vital role in protecting homes, supporting our economy, and enhancing the lifestyle we enjoy.

It was fantastic to see the playground and surrounding areas filled with families on the day — and to know that Bardavcol has also delivered the essential infrastructure helping to create a safer community across the Torrens Valley region.

Thank you to the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, ProcurePM Project Management, our dedicated team, and all our subcontractors and suppliers for bringing this important project to life.

Celebrating 50 Years in Business!

Any South Australian resident or visitor is likely to have experienced Bardavcol’s influence on our state. Whether driving to your destination, flying into or out of South Australia, utilising our most precious water resources, or crossing a bridge, chances are Bardavcol has played a part in your day.

Having done so since December 1975, Bardavcol recently celebrated a significant milestone—50 years in business.

What began as a small business subcontracting to builders has, over five decades, grown into a trusted organisation that has delivered some of South Australia’s most important infrastructure projects. Guided by integrity, reliability, agility and trust, we remain a proud, humble family business—honouring our legacy while looking ahead with excitement to the future.

We were delighted to celebrate this milestone alongside our valued clients, suppliers, contractors, friends, and most importantly, our people—past and present. We were also honoured to have the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Emily Bourke - Labor MLC, attend and speak about Bardavcol’s contribution to South Australia.

We sincerely thank everyone who joined us on the day and all those who have supported Bardavcol throughout our 50 successful years.
