Soft curves, natural textures and a home built around its landscape.
Set among the gum-dotted hills of Kangarilla, this 710m² family home draws quiet inspiration from Mediterranean and North African architecture, with rendered curves, terracotta, timber and stone used throughout.
Some of the details we're particularly proud of:
- Full-height timber battens rising from the entry wall and across the ceiling
- A double-sided Basket Range sandstone fireplace anchoring the sunken living area
- A natural swimming pool in the central courtyard, filtered by water-lily beds rather than chlorine
- A concrete-topped kitchen island with an inset brass farmhouse sink and solid timber joinery
- A cedar-lined sauna and ice bath, with a private bathroom and gym
- A self-contained multi-generational apartment connected by timber walkways
- A fully off-grid design with deep eaves, natural cross ventilation and windows reused from the original home
The home was recognised as winner of the Renovation or Addition $1M–$2M category at the 2026 Master Builders SA Building Excellence Awards, and we look forward to representing South Australia at the National Awards. 🏆
