H+H Director Julie de Jong joined the live panel discussion, How Do We Plan for Albany's Growth?

As the architect behind many of the regions sustainability, transitional housing, affordable and social housing, homelessness response and community-focused projects, Julie shared her perspective on how thoughtful development can create a more liveable city while responding to environmental priorities and the needs of our community.

Construction is underway!

We're excited to see the Carnarvon Tramway Trail coming to life with new interpretive signage and furniture designed by H+H Architects, featuring reclaimed timber from the One Mile Jetty, now being installed by local carpenter Stuart Parker along the walkway that follows the State Heritage-listed Carnarvon Tramway Line, made possible with grant funding from Lotterywest.

H+H Architects, in collaboration with the Lock Hospital Working Group, developed new interpretation signage for the Lock Hospital Path of Pain. These powerful stories acknowledge the many Aboriginal men and women who were forcibly removed to the Lock Hospitals on Bernier and Dorre Islands with many never returning home.

H+H Architects also worked with Wooramulla Journeys to design interpretive signage that tells the Dreamtime story of the Emu in the Sky, along with information about local bush foods and medicines.

Along the trail, visitors will also discover the Stories Along the Tramway community research project panel which was designed by H+H. Thanks to the efforts of the wonderful staff at the Shire of Carnarvon Library and contributions from the local community, local memories of growing up, living and working along the Tramway have been captured, highlighting the important social role the One Mile Jetty and Tramway played in the history of Carnarvon.

As we celebrate NAIDOC Week's theme, 50 Years of Deadly, H+H Architects are proud to support the Youth Ball, hosted by Esperance Tjaltjraak Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (ETNTAC) in the lovely town of Esperance.

This evening gives years 7 - 12 students a special night in a culturally safe environment to come together and celebrate culture, community and the next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

NAIDOC Week is a time to listen, learn and recognise the strength and resilience of the world’s oldest continuing cultures. This year’s theme is 50 Years of Deadly. We encourage everyone to come together as a community to show their support and attend their local NAIDOC events.

There are three upcoming NAIDOC Week events hosted by Esperance Tjaltjraak Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (ETNTAC) in the beautiful town of Esperance.

It’s great to see works commencing on site for the Bayonet Head Housing Development.

Working with Advance Housing and the wider project team, our goal was to create a place that feels welcoming, comfortable and connected to the existing community. The development provides 36 high quality homes designed to support a range of housing needs, with a strong focus on accessibility, sustainability and resident wellbeing.

From the generous landscaping to the energy efficient building design, every decision was made with the long-term experience of residents in mind. We’re proud to have contributed to a project that will provide much needed housing for the Albany community for years to come.
