Absolutely stoked for RPMotorsport - Russ Pavey Motorsport and the results from Jamboree! It’s been a long road to this point and to see the results of the long days and nights improving the car’s performance is exciting to see and a pleasure to be involved with!

Well jamboree 2026 lived up to expectations plus a whole lot more. We booked a test day on the Thursday to see if we could get the lockup convertor doing rhe right thing. First pass netted a strong 5.79@242. Next pass improved with another 5.79 but at a better 252.99mph. Both passes were 202mph at half track. First round of qualifying on Friday night was over before it started with the blower belt breaking on launch. Saturday qualifying started the same with another belt snapping launch. Second qualifier saw us paired with John Ricca and I figured I had the best seat in the house to watch John shoot for 5.30 pass. Instead I hit the tree with a 0.003 reaction and didn’t see him until the last second on the finish line. John’s late leave meant he spent the entire track chasing me down making for a great looking pass. The scoreboard read 5.41 for John and a new PB for me at 5.75@253. Sundays race day started with a super close race with Steve Smith in his turbo hemi corvette and I managed to sn**ch the win with a hole shot 5.78 to Steve’s quicker 5.77. Seconds round saw another pairing with John Ricca but my blower belt departed again only to watch John shake his parachute out at half track and shut off! I had a bye in the third round and we decided to have a swing but it was more than the tires could take and it shook hard until it finally crossed the centreline. The driver could have done a better job of lifting early but I was hoping it would make it to the shift … all up it was a fantastic weekend. Four 5.7’s with a best of 5.75. New mph best of 253 and the car coming up clean after every pass. I couldn’t ask for more!
None of this is ever possible without an enormous amount of help from many people starting with my beloved Caroline who is the first to cheer or console with whatever is going on - Thank you Babe
Our trusty tuner Ben Bray has revolutionised our Corvette making it into a fast and consistent race car. His quick quips make for a whole bunch of laughter and good times - Thank tou buddy!
Our crew guys for the weekend Greg Alder and Jackson Bray worked hard to keep everything smooth and sorted - thank you guys!
Micks Towing spoiled us this weekend with transport in their new trailer plus helping out with lots of stuff over the weekend. Thank you Mick, Vee and Chelsea! Plus also need to thank Chris Schaper for some last minute fabrication jobs on the corvette.
I must give a shout out to our sponsors Exhaust Clean Australia, Micks Towing service and Line2Line Coatings Aust for their continued support.
Cheers
