🏗️ 32 m LIGHT POLES | GABION WALLS | SANDSTONE WALLS | PILED FOUNDATIONS
Four light poles now stand tall at 32 metres, marking another major milestone in the sporting complex upgrade for The Hills Shire Council.
With most of the sandstone block walls between the two split-level sporting fields complete and the perimeter gabion walls nearing completion, this site is taking impressive shape.
Our VD&D engineers are back on site to inspect the next three light pole foundations, checking reinforcement cages and foundation bolt assemblies ahead of the concrete pours. 👷‍♂️🔍
đź’ˇ Engineering for height starts below ground.
These foundations support substantial lateral forces and overturning moments. Their design brings together the pole manufacturer’s support reactions, site-specific ground conditions and reinforced concrete pile capacity to transfer loads into the surrounding ground and sandstone.
Precision before the pour is critical. Our inspections focus on:
âś… Reinforcement cage positioning, spacing and concrete cover
âś… Foundation bolt spacing, orientation, embedment and projection
âś… Bolt template alignment, levels and installation tolerances
âś… Coordination of electrical conduits within the piers
The cast-in bolt assemblies provide the critical connection between each concrete foundation and the pole’s gusseted base plate. Accurate set-out now supports the er****on of the galvanised, multi-sided poles waiting on site.
From the retaining structures shaping the sporting fields to the foundations supporting the lighting above, close coordination between engineers, suppliers and the construction team is turning detailed design into lasting community infrastructure.
