Workshop Assistant / Yard Person
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Workshop Assistant / Yard Person to join our busy engineering workshop.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a workshop environment, is practical and physically fit, and takes pride in keeping the workplace organised, safe and running efficiently.
👇About the Role
Working alongside our workshop and engineering team, your duties will include:
- General workshop and yard duties
- Loading and unloading materials and deliveries
- Moving, stacking and organising steel, equipment and materials
- Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy and organised
- Assisting tradespeople and workshop staff as required
- Preparing materials and equipment for jobs
- General cleaning, maintenance and housekeeping
- Using basic hand tools and workshop equipment
- Sorting and disposing of scrap materials
- Following workplace health and safety procedures
- Other general duties as required
👉About You
The successful applicant will be:
- Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a team
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
- Practical and mechanically minded
- Able to follow instructions and work safely
- Organised and takes pride in keeping the workplace tidy
- Willing to learn new skills
- Previous experience in an engineering, fabrication, construction or workshop environment is an advantage, but not essential
- A current forklift licence would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
