Connecting Community & Culture at Black Coffee ☕️✨

We had a brilliant time yesterday at the City of Moreton Bay Black Coffee Mob Only Event!

It was incredible to see such a strong turnout, with representatives spanning all levels of community, government, and commercial groups. Events like these are vital for building meaningful connections, sharing insights, and driving real collaboration across our region.

A huge thank you to everyone who organised, hosted, and showed up to yarn, connect, and strengthen our networks. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

National Reconciliation Week at Kallangur Satellite Health Centre (Kalangoor) 🖤💛❤️

This morning, the Tuff Yards team had the privilege of attending the Reconciliation Week Morning Tea to celebrate National Reconciliation Week. 🌿

A big thank you to Trina and the team for inviting us along! It was a beautiful opportunity to come together, learn about our shared histories, celebrate First Nations cultures, and explore how we can all contribute to reconciliation.

Highlights from the Special Program: ✨

- Cultural Immersion: A Welcome to Country, traditional Smoking Ceremony, and local history yarn led by Kabi Kabi Traditional Owner, Nate Morgan.

- Guest Speaker: An inspiring talk on truth-telling, memory, and reconciliation by Bundjalung author Sharlene Allsopp (The Great Undoing).

- Community Health: Interactive health information stalls and opportunistic health screenings with local services. 🩺

We wrapped up the morning connecting with community and staff over a wonderful morning tea. Thank you to everyone who organised the event and shared their knowledge today!

Rain or shine, the community shows up🌧️🙌🏽

This past Tuesday, Tuff Yards attended the City of Moreton Bay Black Coffee networking morning. Despite heavy downpours and local road closures, 16 dedicated people turned up to connect and support one another.

What makes Black Coffee so valuable is its focus on building authentic, long-term relationships. It moves away from rigid corporate networking and instead prioritises meaningful conversations and strong collaborations with First Nations entrepreneurs, community members, and industry allies. It was excellent to see so many organisations showing up to support one another.

Proud to be part of such a resilient and connected network. Thanks to everyone who braved the weather! ☕✨

Committed to Compliance & Excellence 💎

Our team at Tuff Yards headed out for a specialised in-field training day with the IVM Group, focusing on expert herbicide spraying techniques. We spent the day sharpening our technical skills and refining our application methods 🛠️.

At Tuff Yards, we don’t just "work"—we lead the way in compliant, consistent, and high-quality practices. This training ensures our team remains at the top of their game by focusing on:
- Precision Herbicide Application: Ensuring every site meets rigorous environmental and project standards.
- Compliance Excellence: Aligning our spraying methods with the latest industry benchmarks ✅.
- Best-Practice Documentation: Establishing clear reference materials to guarantee consistent, high-tier results across the entire site.

By investing in our staff, we’re ensuring that the vital infrastructure projects we support receive the most professional service possible.

Standing Together: Wear Purple for Change 💜

We were honoured to attend the 3rd Annual Black Coffee Domestic & Family Violence Awareness Morning Tea! ☕️✨

At Tuff Yards, our commitment to the community goes beyond the job site. We believe in showing up for the conversations that matter, which is why we’ve been proud supporters of this annual event since the very first one back in 2024. Seeing this movement grow year after year is a testament to the power of solidarity.

This morning tea wasn't just about networking—it was about:
- Raising Awareness: Shining a light on the impacts of Domestic & Family Violence.
- Building Connections: Linking up with like-minded people and organisations like Challenge DV, Blaq Diamonds, and Gawun Supplies.
- Standing Together: Making it clear that we stand united against violence in our homes and communities.

It was a privilege to join the Black Coffee Indigenous Business Network to support this vital cause. Events like these remind us why we must continue to show up, support one another, and work towards a safer future for everyone. 🤝💜

Building Bridges at the UQ Indigenous Business Mixer 🤝

Hosted at the beautiful Aboriginal Art Co, it was an inspiring afternoon of informal networking. We loved catching up with fellow Indigenous business owners, chatting with corporate representatives, and meeting the vibrant UQ community. ✨
