Ever wondered why we cut lines into fresh concrete? 🤔

Those lines aren’t mistakes — they’re control joints, and they’re one of the most important parts of a quality slab.

Concrete WILL crack… it’s just a matter of when.

Concrete cracks because as it dries it shrinks, and since it isn’t flexible, that shrinkage creates stress that leads to cracking. Temperature changes, ground movement, and weight on the slab can also add pressure over time. The reality is all concrete will crack — the key is using control joints to make sure it cracks in the right place, keeping it clean and controlled instead of random.
