We've started laser cleaning the reinforcement steel beneath the pool structure at the Byron Bay Project!
In coastal regions, salt air penetrates concrete and corrodes the steel inside it. Before any repair can happen, that corrosion has to come off completely.
Laser cleaning removes rust and contaminants by vaporising them off the surface. Unlike grinding or abrasive blasting, it's precise and doesn't wear down the steel underneath. A properly cleaned surface is what allows the corrosion treatment and concrete patching to bond and last long term.
