This Reconciliation Day, we’re proud to share the story behind the artwork on our Casey neighbourhood battery.

Buugang-Bu Bilirr (Bogong and Black Cockatoo) by artist Kalara Gilbert.

The Bogong Moth’s annual journey to Tidbinbilla once called many Nations together to gather, celebrate and share in Ceremony. The Black Cockatoo is a messenger – a bringer of rain, a reminder to listen to Country🌱🌦️🌳

This painting carries those memories. We’re proud to have this story wrapped around infrastructure in our community.

Evoenergy acknowledges the significant disruption caused by yesterday afternoon’s electricity outage across the Gungahlin region. We thank the community for its patience and understanding.

The outage affected 36,783 customers, including traffic lights, light rail services, telecommunications, and some community facilities. Some customers experienced phone and internet service disruptions during the outage period, and some were unable to get through to our Contact Centre.

Our website also experienced issues due to a high number of people trying to access outage information at the same time.

Evoenergy responded with all available resources to quickly identify the fault and restore power, with all customers restored within 50 minutes.

We are aware of speculation on social media that this may have been a cyber incident. Evoenergy can confirm this was not a cyber incident.

The outage was caused by a fault at the Gold Creek Zone Substation, which supplies the Gungahlin region. Due to the location of the fault, a larger number of customers were impacted than in a typical local outage.

The cause of the fault is being investigated.

We are aware of an outage affecting a large number of customers in parts of Gungahlin.

Our crews are on site and are working as safely and quickly as possible to determine the cause of the outage and to restore power.

At this stage, we don’t have an estimated restoration time.

Our annual aerial inspection program is flying by! 🚁🌳

Our drone and helicopter are taking to the skies over Canberra for just a few more weeks. They have been completing the important job of inspecting our overhead electricity lines, checking if vegetation is too close. The inspections help us keep the network safe, reliable and bushfire-ready.

Our annual aerial inspection program is underway for 2026 🚁🌳

From today until the end of March, you may see our helicopter or drone flying across the ACT as we carry out routine inspections of vegetation and our overhead electricity network.

These yearly inspections are an important part of keeping the network safe, reliable, and bushfire-ready.

Our newest Electrical Fitters and Lineworkers have earned their Certificate III qualifications through our Apprenticeship Program and are moving into roles supporting the electrification of the ACT.

We are incredibly proud to see them continue to advance their careers with us!

In late 2025, we wrapped up our annual bushfire audit by using drones – which are quiet and environmentally friendly. Thanks to our partners Intelfuse and Carbonix, we checked trees near powerlines (in rural areas) to make sure our community is ready for storms and bushfires.
