Another 5 Years to Celebrate 🎉

Hot on the heels of celebrating Jacko’s five-year milestone, we’ve got another one — congratulations to Brad Gibson on five years with WDC!

Currently driving a side tipper with our Talinga road crew, Brad is always willing to share his knowledge and experience, particularly with our green hats and newer team members.

He contributes at pre-starts and toolboxes, puts his hand up when an overshift needs covering, and brings a positive attitude wherever the job takes him.

Having another member of our crew reach the five-year mark is something we’re genuinely proud of — and Brad is a great example of the people who make WDC what it is.

5 Years at WDC for Jackson Barram! 👍

Today we recognise Jackson “Jacko” Barram on reaching five years with Western Downs Civil.

Over those five years, Jacko has worked his way through multiple machines, continually developing his skills and earning his place as one of our best final trim excavator operators.

More importantly, Jacko is a pleasure to have on any project. Easy-going, nothing is ever a problem, and he brings a genuine can-do attitude to work every day. He consistently lives by the WDC values and is someone you can rely on to get the job done.

Five years is a great achievement and a credit to Jacko’s work ethic, attitude and commitment.

Some jobs just mean more. ❤️

For the past month, our crew has been on site at St Joseph's School here in Chinchilla, raising the school oval so the kids can finally use it year-round, rain or shine.

This one is personal. Some of our team walked those same grounds growing up. Others have their own little ones there right now. St Joseph's has been at the heart of this community for generations — and getting to be the local crew that shows up and makes it better for the next generation of Chinchilla kids means everything to us. 🙏

We won. 🏆

Last Friday night, we were named the 2026 winner of the Outstanding Commitment to Training and Skill Development (Employer) award at the CCF Queensland Excellence in Civil Construction Awards — and we are SO proud!

This award isn't about a program or a policy. It's about people.

Growing our people from the ground up isn't something we do because we have to — it's who we are. It's at the heart of our company. Watching someone start out new to the industry and grow into a leader through our crews is one of the things we're most proud of, and this award is recognition of exactly that.

To Harry, Adam, Beau, Jason and Jake — five nominees, five finalists. You didn't just represent WDC on Friday night, you showed everyone in that room exactly what our team is made of. We couldn't be prouder of every single one of you. We'll be back next year. 💪
