Upscale Carbon had a Carbon Field Team on the ground near Morven last week - conducting an Initial Stratification as part of a Human-Induced Regeneration (HIR) Project.

While the HIR Method has sunsetted (expired), there are still plenty of projects who registered throughout 2023 that are still to conduct their vegetation baseline (or as we say, the 'Initial Strat').

The team got lucky with clear skies and mild temperatures for November. This will probably be our teams last Field Expedition for 2025 - as we shack up in the office for the QLD Summer. The summer growing season, otherwise called the 'Wet Season' for those further north, is best avoided when conducting field surveys.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions when it comes to Carbon Farming!

The Upscale Carbon Field Team has returned home after 2 weeks of on-ground surveys west of Collinsville in Central Queensland. The team conducted a comprehensive Ecological Assessment of our clients property - which included a particular focus on both Carbon and Biodiversity Offset Potential.

The Fourth Independent Review of HIR Gateway Checks is now completed, and the results are providing strong assurances that projects are being managed appropriately.

This is more good news for Australia's ACCU Scheme and for HIR Projects and Vegetation Methods more broadly, as it demonstrates a high level of integrity.

With this new report, Associate Professor Cris Brack has now independently reviewed 75 projects that have passed HIR regeneration gateway checks. This represents over a quarter of reporting projects under the HIR method.

This report adds to the series of independent reviews conducted by Associate Professor (Honorary) Cris Brack of the process and outcomes of human-induced regeneration (HIR) gateway checks that began in 2023. Regeneration checks require proponents to demonstrate at 5-yearly intervals that regeneratin...

Our team loved getting back up to North QLD to assist Rural Funds Management with their Initial Stratification of Oakland Park Station under the Human-Induced Regeneration carbon method.

We are excited to see how this project develops in the coming months and years.

Thanks again also to the Tagalaka Rangers for their support.

New Landholder Guidance now available for graziers looking to participate in the Australian Carbon Market

The Carbon Market Institute (CMI) and the Australian Carbon Industry Code of Conduct (The ACI Code) this week released - Landholder Guidance: A checklist for partnering on carbon farming projects, developed with support from the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation.

This resource is designed to support landholders considering an ACCU Scheme carbon farming project in partnership with a third party - providing clarity on key considerations, roles, responsibilities, and steps to take before signing an agreement.
