The project ends. The skills stay 🏗️
National Skills Week is about celebrating vocational education and training, the people learning their craft and the career pathways those skills can create.
We’ve seen plenty of those pathways over the years.
Our General Manager, Lindsay O’Hea, started his career on the tools as a carpenter. There are a lot of years, projects and lessons between then and now, and those early skills are still part of the experience he brings to DICE today.
You don’t need to know where the next 20 years will take you when you first learn a trade.
You might stay on the tools and master your craft. You might move into supervision, project management or leadership. You might end up somewhere you never expected.
Having the skills gives you somewhere to start. Experience builds from there.
This National Skills Week, we’re celebrating everyone learning a trade, gaining a qualification, passing on what they know or figuring out where they want to go next.
Because sometimes an opportunity gives you more than a job.
It gives you options.
Opportunity Leads to Choice.
