🏇⚓ And they're off… to the waterfront! ⚓🏇

It's Melbourne Cup Day – the race that stops a nation! 🇦🇺
While the thoroughbreds are thundering down the straight at Flemington, the Advance Civil Engineering crew has been making strides of their own… right down to the water's edge. 🌊
We might not know much about picking a winner on the track, but we know a thing or two about a great launch. From the first pour to the final precast plank, every boat ramp we build is a stayer – made to go the distance through big tides, wet seasons and thousands of launches and retrievals. 💪
So whether you're dressed to the nines for the office sweep, cheering from the pub or listening in on the boat – we hope your horse comes home a winner! 🏆🎩

Our tip for today? Back a sure thing: quality boat ramps, built to last. 😉 Enjoy the race, everyone – and please punt responsibly.

🎃👷 Trick or Treat! 👷🎃

Our crew isn't scared of much… but even we get spooked by:

👻 Unmarked underground services
🦇 Rain on a fresh pour
🕷️ "Just one more small variation"
💀 Build-up humidity at 2pm

Heading out trick-or-treating tonight? Stay safe out there. Wear something bright, watch for traffic, and keep an eye on the little ghouls around roadworks and driveways. 🚧🧡

Happy Halloween from all of us at Advance Civil Engineering! 🍬🎃

🎉 A huge thank you to Family Business Australia (FBA AU) for recognising our team!

45 years of hard work, long days and a whole lot of Territory red dirt 🚜 – and it means the world to have that effort acknowledged.
This one belongs to every member of our crew, past and present, and to the clients and community who've backed us all the way. Here's to the next chapter! 💪

Congratulations to Advance Civil Engineering Pty Ltd, winners of the 2026/27 Established Family Business Award for SA/NT. Presented this afternoon at the Family Business Insights SA/NT Conference.⠀

When Advance Civil Engineering began in 1980, business was done with a handshake.

Forty-five years later, it has grown from one founder into a team specialising in complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects, including bridges, wharves, pontoons, piling and marine works.

Advance Civil Engineering projects take the team across some of the Territory’s most remote and challenging environments, delivering major works for government, mining and private clients.

Today, Advance Civil Engineering is also the Northern Territory’s leading pile installer, with the second generation now leading the company and three generations of the family involved across its history.

The Family Business Excellence Awards are presented to an outstanding family business demonstrating excellence and achievement in the core business principles of Governance, Entrepreneurship and Stewardship, and exhibits how family ownership and involvement has helped the business to achieve a competitive advantage.⠀⠀
⠀
Advance Civil Engineering will be finalists for the 2027 Established Family Business Award, which will be announced at the Family Business Conference: Asia-Pacific in Darwin on 3 June 2027.⠀

Proud moment for Advance Civil Engineering! Our CEO, Amanda Challen, was invited to a Master Builders NT Roundtable with Federal members Angus Taylor MP and Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price to discuss the implications of the 2026–27 Federal Budget for the Territory construction industry. 🏗️📊
From family trust structures to negative gearing and Capital Gains Tax arrangements, the conversation focused on how policy certainty supports investment, confidence, and stronger outcomes for Territorians. We’re grateful to contribute to discussions that help shape practical policy. 🇦🇺✨

We can’t wait to see the 2026 Divercity Exhibition open and to be part of bringing it to the community.

As a Silver Sponsor, we’re proud to support an event that celebrates the stories, people and diversity that make the Territory so special.

It’s also wonderful to support a fellow female-owned Territory business behind the lens. Congratulations, Georgia Politis, on bringing this incredible vision to life. We can’t wait to experience the exhibition and see the impact it has on our community.

Wishing the team every success with what promises to be an outstanding exhibition!

Thank you to our Silver Sponsor, Advance Civil Engineering PTY LTD, for supporting the 2026 Divercity Exhibition.

Sponsoring this showcase is more than sponsoring an event. You are supporting the legacy of Territorians and giving them an opportunity to showcase their stories to the world.

Thank you 🤩

“The enemy of safety is complacency.” — Shane Webcke

Amanda and Tamara recently attended a powerful workplace safety talk hosted by EzyQuip Australia, featuring Queensland State of Origin legend Shane Webcke. Shane shared his personal story and spoke about the far-reaching impact workplace incidents can have on families, friends and colleagues.
At Advance Civil Engineering, safety is more than a priority—it is a commitment to ensuring every person returns home safely at the end of every shift.
Thank you to EzyQuip Australia for the opportunity to listen, learn and reflect on how we can all help build safer workplaces.
