WE’RE FEELING PRETTY BUOYANT || And for good reason.

The Bundaberg Aquatic Centre for Bundaberg Regional Council has taken out the Sporting Facilities Award at the 2026 Master Builders Queensland Wide Bay Burnett Housing & Construction Awards.

Built for swimming, training, competing and everything in between, this is the kind of project we love seeing become part of a community.

Big congratulations to our Woollam team, consultants and contract partners who helped deliver it.

Safe to say, we’ll be floating on this one for a while.

A LITTLE ADMIN WORK

Not every aged care project is about resident rooms, dining spaces or gardens. Sometimes, it’s about making life work a little better for the people behind the care.

At Benevolent Living in Rockhampton, our team is extending and refurbishing the existing administration area, bringing staff together into one central location.

Because while admin might happen behind the scenes, anyone working in aged care knows just how much goes on back there.

More room. Better connection. Less trekking from one end of the facility to the other.

It might not be the part residents see every day, but getting these spaces right helps the people who keep everything else running.

🌈 A sign of beautiful things to come at the Helena’s House site.

But rather than chasing the pot of gold, we got on with building! The site has been prepared, the foundations laid, the slab poured, and now the frames are going up.

With every milestone, Helena’s House is moving from a dream on a page to a welcoming, accessible home that will support independence, choice and a good life.

This build is being brought to life by an incredible community of partners, supporters and people who believe in the work of Bestlife Foundation. Over the coming months, we’ll introduce you to some of the people making it happen and take you behind the scenes as the house takes shape. It's got us feeling warm and fuzzy!

THERE’S MORE THAN COAL COMING OUT OF MORANBAH

And this one’s worth celebrating!

Moranbah Community Centre Redevelopment, also known as the Isaac Events Centre, delivered for Isaac Regional Council, took out the Community Service Facilities Award at the 2026 Master Builders Mackay & Whitsunday Awards.

A great result for a project that’s all about community — and for the many good people who brought it together.

Big cheers to our Woollam team, consultants and contract partners behind the build, and congratulations to everyone who had something to celebrate on the night. 👏

⚡ IT’S ELECTRIFYING! ⚡

We’ve just wrapped up the build of CQUniversity’s new Mackay Electric Vehicle and Energy Training Centre, and this place is future ready!

EVs. Charging infrastructure. Solar. Renewable energy. And plenty of room for innovating without limits.

Across 2,250m² of workshops, training and teaching spaces, the next generation can now get hands-on with the technologies shaping where our industries are heading.

Our job here is done, and now it's your time to plug in, Mackay.

Big thanks to CQUniversity Australia and everyone who helped bring this one together.

WELL, THAT’S ONE WAY TO SPEND A FRIDAY NIGHT

A very nice result for our North Queensland crew, with The Good Shepherd Home – Grevillea Alterations & Additions, Annandale, taking out the 2026 Master Builders Queensland North Queensland Award for Queensland Community Accommodation.

We’re pretty happy with this one.

A big well done to our Woollam team, consultants and contract partners who put in the work to get it there. This trophy has a lot of fingerprints on it. 👏

Congratulations to all the entrants and winners on the night — North Queensland certainly knows how to build.

HARD TO BEAT THIS!

Building is great and all, but then there are days like Westival at Western Suburbs State Special School, when fairy floss is flying, popcorn is popping, jumping castles are bouncing and baby goats are bleating — those are pretty hard to beat.

A crew of Woollam legends happily put their hands up to help out, but the biggest, loudest cheer belongs to the teachers, teacher aides, parents and carers who show up for these students day in, day out.

Westival brought all the fun of the EKKA to the familiar surrounds of the school oval, giving students and their families the chance to enjoy the excitement in a place they know well. There was a student-run café, sideshow alley, face painting, jumping castles, animals and an incredible number of smiles.

A joyful day, a very happy Woollam crew, and a pretty good reminder of who the real legends are around here.

BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS SOMETHING

Things are moving quickly at the Northern Beaches Community Hub in Mackay.

With structures complete and roofs on across Buildings One and Two, attention has well and truly shifted inside.

Walls are going up, services are going in and the library and community spaces are starting to take shape. Meanwhile, the lift shaft is heading up and outside, in-ground works and pavements are keeping another part of the crew busy.

It’s the stage of the build where a week makes a big difference — and there’s no shortage of people making it happen.

Plenty moving. Just how we like it.

NOT EVERY MASTERPIECE IS BUILT ON A CONSTRUCTION SITE 🎨

This week, the focus shifts from construction to canvas as Mackay's Art Society prepares to open its doors for the 2026 Woollam Art on Show Awards this Friday.

As long-time supporters of the event, we're always impressed by the talent on display and the passion of everyone involved behind the scenes.

Wishing all the artists the very best—we're looking forward to seeing the exhibition come to life.

ROLL UP. ROLL UP || WESTIVAL IS COMING

Western Suburbs State Special School is bringing all the colour, chaos and excitement of a school fete to its students, with games, prizes, showbags and plenty of fun.

We couldn't let the big day roll around empty-handed.

Our CA, Sujut Sadeqi, stopped by to deliver prizes and art supplies to Deputy Principal, Elizabeth Linklater-Steele, helping stock the stalls ahead of the festivities.

Supporting communities doesn't stop when the project wraps up, and we're delighted to play a small part in helping make Westival a memorable day for the students.
