The trade wars continue… ⚡Electricians say: “How do you know the sparky has been at your house?” .... “There’s no mess left behind… because the plumber still hasn’t arrived yet.” 😅

Meanwhile, plumbers are probably reading this while shaking their heads and planning revenge in the comments.

At Gray Electrical & Air-Conditioning, Alex and the team know every trade likes to give each other a hard time — but at the end of the day, it takes everyone working together to keep projects, homes and businesses running smoothly.

Still… sparkies definitely have the better jokes.

It might be winter now… but plenty of people are already getting ready for another Central Queensland summer.

The Gray Electrical & Air-Conditioning truck loaded up with GREE air-conditioning systems and heading out for upcoming installations across the region.

Of course, it’s not just about keeping cool in summer as modern air-conditioning systems also provide efficient heating during those chilly winter mornings as well.

Now is the perfect time to get organised before the summer rush arrives and everyone starts reaching for the remote at the same time.

Another busy day ahead for the team keeping homes and businesses comfortable year-round across Central Queensland

The countdown is on.

With less than seven months until Queensland's smoke alarm legislation deadline, now is the time to check whether your home is compliant.

From 1 January 2027, all existing homes, townhouses and units in Queensland must have interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms installed in key locations throughout the property.

If you're not sure whether your current smoke alarms meet the requirements, you're not alone. Many homeowners are surprised to learn that older alarms may not comply with the new legislation.

The good news? There's still time to get it sorted before the deadline arrives.

The team at Gray Electrical & Air-Conditioning can assess your current setup, explain what's required and help ensure your home and family are protected.

Don't leave it until the last minute because when it comes to fire safety, early warning can save lives.

Winter officially arrived this week and Dean isn't taking any chances.

Spotted in the workshop preparing what appears to be Queensland's first industrial-sized coffee warmer, Dean insists it's actually a ducted air-conditioning component. We're not entirely convinced.

With the mornings getting colder, there has been a noticeable increase in people asking about heating, air-conditioning upgrades and making their homes more comfortable for winter.

Fortunately for Gladstone residents, Dean's expertise extends well beyond oversized coffee warmers and mysterious metal contraptions. Whether it's keeping your home warm on chilly mornings or cool during our long Queensland summers, the GEAC team has you covered.

If your air-conditioning system isn't performing the way it should, now is the perfect time to get it checked before the weather changes again. And Dean, if that is a coffee warmer, we'd like one for the office❄️☕😂.

Meet Dane from the team at Gray Electrical & Air-Conditioning.

Whether it’s heading out to site, tackling installations, maintenance, fault finding, or keeping projects moving, Dane is always ready to get stuck into the day ahead.

Behind every reliable electrical and air-conditioning service business is a team of hardworking tradespeople putting in the effort on-site, solving problems, and helping customers keep their homes, businesses, and operations running smoothly.

At Gray Electrical & Air-Conditioning, it’s not just about getting the job done, it’s about providing reliable service, practical solutions, and building strong relationships with customers across the region.

Good people, quality work, and a strong team culture continue to make all the difference.

At first glance it might look like the electricians at Gray Electrical & Air-Conditioning are either locked in… or being kept out 🤣

But behind the “bars” is part of a practical mobile electrical setup featuring DIN rail mounted circuit breakers and RCBOs used for circuit protection, isolation, and safe testing while working on site.

These devices help protect electrical systems from overloads, short circuits, and earth leakage faults, while also allowing electricians to safely isolate and manage power during installation, commissioning, and maintenance work.

The van setup is all about safety, efficiency, and having the right equipment ready to go wherever the job takes the team.

Although we’re still not completely convinced the mesh barrier isn’t there to stop the electricians escaping after a long day on the tools.

Every good electrical business has two important people…

The boss who says, “How hard can it be?”
And the qualified electrician quietly fixing whatever the boss just suggested. 😄

Meet Alex and Errol from Gray Electrical and Air Conditioning.

Alex keeps the wheels turning, the jobs moving, and the ideas flowing. Errol keeps the wiring safe, the standards high, and occasionally reminds Alex that “she’ll be right” isn’t actually in the electrical rule book.

Between them, they’ve built a strong reputation across Gladstone for quality electrical and air conditioning work backed by experience, reliability, and a good sense of humour.

Although we’re still not entirely sure whether this photo was taken before work… or after Alex told Errol there was “just one quick job left.” ⚡😄

There’s nothing worse than moving into your new home only to discover the lights flicker, the switchboard belongs in a museum, and the air conditioner sounds like it’s preparing for take-off. 😄

That’s why a pre-purchase electrical inspection is worth considering before you sign on the dotted line.

At Gray Electrical and Air Conditioning, the team checks the important things many buyers don’t think about until it’s too late including wiring, safety switches, smoke alarms, switchboards, power points, and air conditioning systems.

It’s about helping you understand exactly what you’re buying before settlement day arrives.

Because a house can look perfect at an open home… right up until someone turns the power on.

There’s been a bit of debate around the GEAC workshop lately about who would actually make the better electrician - Errol or Asta?

Now Errol does have years of experience behind him, but Asta seems to have the focus, the energy, and the ability to hear a zip tie hit the floor from 400 metres away.

To be honest, this photo looks less like a man with his dog and more like two workmates discussing why the apprentice wired something backwards again.

One thing’s for sure though… Asta definitely looks like she’d take workplace safety very seriously, although there’s a fair chance she’d still chase the cable drum if someone rolled it too quickly.

Good people, good dogs, and plenty of laughs. That’s what makes workplaces like GEAC what they are.

We may have accidentally created a monster. After a bit of “creative redesign work,” Dean has now decided the company logo on the vans should actually just be his face.

To be fair, the resemblance is uncanny. Same determined look. Same energy. Same bloke running around carrying electrical gear trying to save the day. The only problem is co-director Alex has now raised concerns about “branding consistency” and would also like his face added somewhere on the fleet.

Rumour has it the next step is:
✔ Dean stickers on all hard hats
✔ Alex requesting equal logo representation
✔ “Powered by Dean & Approved by Alex” on the back of the vans
✔ And possibly replacing the plug in the logo with a coffee cup

At this point the marketing department has lost control completely.

All jokes aside, if you see the GEAC vans around town and notice the bosses slowly taking over the branding, mind your business. It’s already too late.
