Elizabeth Machines Co. was established by Max Skurrie in 1960 in Elizabeth Street, Melbourne.

Originally specialising in domestic sewing machine sales and service, the business grew quickly and began dealing with industrial sewing machines.

We now supply a full range of industrial sewing threads suitable for upholstery, leatherwork, marine fabrication, outdoor products and technical textiles. Our sewing machine thread product range includes Anefil Bonded Nylon, Sunstop Bonded Polyester, Anefil Soft Polyester and our own Platinum PTFE thread for extreme outdoor conditions.

Anefil Bonded Nylon delivers high strength, abrasion resistance and consistent performance for saddlery, leather goods, automotive interiors and heavy industrial sewing. Its bonded construction improves needle heat resistance and reduces fraying during high‑speed production.

Sunstop Bonded Polyester is engineered for outdoor durability with advanced UV protection, colour stability and reliable sewing performance. Ideal for marine upholstery, shade structures, awnings and outdoor automotive applications.

Anefil Soft Polyester provides smooth sewing, excellent UV resistance and refined stitch quality. It is a popular choice for footwear, luggage, handbags, tie‑downs and specialty industrial applications where clean seams and reduced thread breaks matter.
