Why is it important for us to know what thread you use?
Thread size and type directly determine which industrial sewing machine is right for your application. Every machine is engineered for a specific workload, needle range and thread capacity. For example, a Juki DDL 8000C is designed for clothing and light to medium weight fabrics. A metric 40 thread would not be suitable for this model because the needle system and feed mechanism are not built to handle thicker thread or heavier materials. In this case we would recommend a walking foot or compound feed machine that is designed to run larger needles and heavier thread without compromising stitch quality.
Thread selection affects far more than just appearance. The thickness, fibre type and twist of your thread influence tension balance, needle compatibility, stitch formation, seam strength and overall machine performance. Using the wrong thread can lead to skipped stitches, needle deflection, thread breaks, poor tension and premature wear on your machine.
Understanding your application is essential, but knowing your thread choice completes the picture. It allows us to match you with a machine that delivers consistent results, reliable performance and the correct stitch quality for your materials.
