Ever wondered exactly what it takes to weld stainless steel? 🤔

Despite being one of the most common types of metal found in the world, creating clean seams and permanently stable connections without risk of corrosion is a real challenge for welding.

Usually, stainless steel can be easily welded with the MIG method of welding, particularly for high-alloy steels. However, for small diameter pipelines or different types of steel, TIG welding also leads to good welding results.

Bronpi Calefacción are a company based in Lucena, southern Spain, that develops and manufactures high-quality fireplaces, wood burning stoves and pellet heating systems.

Founded in 1985 and currently employing over 200 workers, Bronpi relies completely on ABICOR BINZEL products for its fabrication purposes.

Welding quality is a central factor in differentiating Bronpi from other manufacturers in their sector - they process materials in wall thicknesses from 0.8 to 8mm, from stainless steel to aluminium, with absolute seam tightness being decisive for products like boilers.

The introduction of BINZEL's seam tracking sensor systems completely transformed Bronpi's automated welding process.

Thanks to sensor guides, the welding robot goes to the optimal weld track for each seam. This means that welding a boiler now takes one hour instead of eight, weld seams are consistently tight, and reworking is rarely necessary at Bronpi.

For visible seams on wood-burning stoves, Bronpi's welders rely on BINZEL's lightweight ABIMIG A T LW torches with rotatable, replaceable necks that allow access through the small openings of stove interiors.
