Do you know your cost per carton? Below is a quick exercise to work out your labour cost per on any line that's still or semi .
Take the operators on that task, their fully-loaded hourly cost, and divide by the cartons they produce in an hour.
Manual cartoning makes sense when volume is low or labour is cheap and accessible. In Australia and New Zealand we are faced with higher labour costs and shortages, so if your volume is increasing, how do you know when the right time to automate is? ROI is important with any project and we work alongside manufacturers to ensure their investment is valuable.
For reliable, automated cartoning our partner Syntegon (Kliklok) offer consistent output, far less manual handling, and a payback period you can actually calculate.
If you're carrying a lot of manual labour on a cartoning task, it's worth putting real numbers to it.
